Thanks Tyler, welcome to Tgg.com! If that is the case, then maybe the Jets are better off trading Abraham for a higher first and second rounder, if this is possible.
Yea Abe for a Quizznos classic Italain and a 4th rd pick .. jk lol Rumor rumor rumor Abe and Coles for T.o and a 2nd and 4th rd pick
How 'bout this: Trade Abe for either mid first rounder (ATL 15th overall for arguments sake) Trade 2nd rounder for Matt Schaub Sign Tom Ashworth, Tony Fonoti, and Kemo Make&^%&* Move Adrian Jones to LG, keep mawae, moore moves to backup 1a) D Brick 1b) BA RB (White, Maroney) 3) Greg Eslinger
why would we give away our 2nd rounder in this draft with immense holes in the Oline? With what money??? Ellis
Thanks edge. I've actually been reading TGG for quite a while. That was just my first post on the board. We need to just get something for Abe. This team has a lot of holes and is in a horrible position with the cap. We just need to stockpile some picks and bring in a lot of youth. This would help give us depth at a cheap cap friendly rate, and more chances to find some actual players. This team is in rebuilding mode. We've got a new coach, a new GM, and many question marks and aging veterans. So bring on the youth and who knows what we might find. So crappy Bryan Thomas starts for now, as long as we bring in some young guys into the rotation we might find a decent player. Someone like Darryl Tapp from VT or Manny Lawson from NC State or Ray Edwards of Purdue or Kamerion Wimbly from Florida State. We all spend so much time worrying about our 1st rounder, when your NFL team is actually built by what you draft in rounds 2-7. Not that the 1st rounder isn't important, it's just that so many people are down on players just because they aren't a flashy 1st round projections. But to get back to the point, I've always liked Abe, but it's time to let him go and get something of value for him. And in my mind, it's draft picks. Whether it's a 1st rounder or a 2nd rounder and some mid round picks. This team needs to rebuild so let's get Mangini some picks so that he can have something to work with.
What i would love is to trade him to the Chargers for Phillip Rivers and their 1st. But with Drew Brees a free agent its not happenin. What i would like to do now is trade Abe for a couple 1st rounders or hopefully someones willing to give up 2 1st rounders to sign him. Whatever happens with his situation i hope all goes good for us and we end up making the right choice in the long run.
Heck yes I would....what do you think this guy will do when he gets his $$$?? He will dissapear, Write it EVAPERATE AFTER HE SIGNS HIS BIG DEAL
If we trade ABe will we have 2 picks in the top 5? I sincerely hope the Jets are smart enough to make a future RB the priority, not a QB.
I say we don't trade him at all. Our pass rush will suffer greatly without Abraham and that'll just expose our young secondary. It would be a disaster. I say we dump some dead weight to get cap room and sign abe to a five-year deal. He's earned it.
Trade Abraham to Detroit for 1st round pick (#9). Donnie Henderson is Detroits DC, so he may want him. Draft: #4 Jay Cutler #9 D'Brickashaw Fergerson, if hes gone Lendale White/DeAngelo Williams or an O-Lineman Pick up Jon Kitna & McGinnest in Free Agency. Kitna is a great mentor/team player (like he was with Carson Palmer) and McGinnest has been with Mangini for the last five years. Major pay-cut for Pennington or he is cut.
i think the jets should trade abe for a first round pick to the texans for the first overall pick....and we would also have to trade our pick to right
In addition to Denver, Atlanta is among the teams that may make a push to trade for New York Jets defensive end John Abraham http://www.denverpost.com/broncos/ci_3570529
Bollock!!!!!!!!..........I don't wanna trade Abe.....no fuggin' way.......it'll open up our secondary like a sardine can........drop Penni(we just waived Fiedler)and we'll have some money to have him retire as a Jet,we give Abe a great deal........'be very happy with that............gotta keep Abe........
