In Herndon's case he didn't really have much alternative but to keep him in. Sterling was out of the game, that's why Herndon was in, and Leggett was inactive. The team is down 2 scores and throwing the football which really rules out Tomlinson as an option too as he's primarily a blocker.
If they don't run any screens to keep Garrett and the boys on edge it is going to be a long day for us on offense.
I was wondering what happened to Leggett. As I suspected, Herndon was the TE of last resort. Seems that letting ASJ go may have been a bit short sighted in hindsight.
I would pound that left side of the Jet oline into dust if I were the Browns. I wouldn't even bother to disguise it with exotic packages as they're not needed against our left side. Keep it simple and keep doing it until Kacy Rodgers figures out how to stop it.
Don't forget about ASJ's two big drops in the end zone last year. He was a decent but limited TE who got paid after all of 357 yards of offense last year. We got similar production out of a 4th round pick yesterday, both yardage and drop wise. I'm willing to give the kid some time and see if he improves.
They don't need to get exotic with Miles Garrett on that side. We are going to have to double team him all game and he probably still gets two sacks.
Meh. He seems to be exactly the same player he was for the Jets last year - 3 catches for 25 yards a game - and it would cost the Jags $4.5 million on the cap to cut him after the season. Even with Bortles playing the game of his life on Sunday he had very little impact. I don't know where GMs around the league find impact tight ends, but Macc certainly hasn't figured it out.
Obviously Herndon is public enemy number 1 or 2 this, and for good reason. Is anyone a little enthused that he was able to get open a few times and got in position to make plays? Even though they were followed by bonehead plays lol.
Sitting Herndon for a play or two and putting Tomlinson in shouldn't have been a problem, and worth sending a message to the kid.
For sure. Rolling darnold out is great and all but it would be nice to keep him home sometimes. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
I read half your post and replied some dogshit about leggett Yeah ASJ is pretty average. How many TDs did he give up last year? Possession rule was shitty but he still bobbled a few away, when there was no reason for it Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
Starting to give up on him. He was out all last year. Played in tc and I think 1 or 2 ps games and mia since. Sent from my SM-G960U using Tapatalk
