Please not another Schotty thread, bump the old one, it’s probably ready for another thousand pages to be added to it.
https://streamable.com/s9f3z Lol coaches call timeout with 10 seconds left on clock, cause Russel was audibling out of Schottys playcalls. Poor Russel.
Yeah, I truly feel bad for Russell Wilson. Seattle's roster went from the best, to a total shit show over night. Now he has to deal with Schotty too? Awful.
I think this is Pete Carroll's last year with the team, so hopefully for Wilson it's his only year with Schotty. If so, they should find an OC that fits what Wilson is trying to do. This one will cost him his job. Seattle tried making this a offense first team and its blowing up in their face.
Seattle is clearly on the way down, as happens to seemingly every good team other than the Pats. I agree with you about Carroll - players eventually stop responding to a coach (again, seemingly everyone other than BB), and that's happened there - and they have lost way too much talent. The interesting question is whether they'll stick with Wilson for the transition or take the $17 million in cap savings they get by cutting him after the season. They might be at least two or three years away, and he's in his seventh season. Do they want to pay him $25 million plus to be the quarterback on a second place team (at best)? It's going to be a tough decision for them.
I would hate to see Wilson in the AFC. I can't see them parting with Wilson. It's just amazing how, one play completely ruined a potential dynasty. No one wants to play for Carroll anymore, whatever created that culture when they were winning is clearly gone now. They've made a lot of bad decisions in the draft, FA and via trade. This implosion just feels different the other teams on the downfall.
