With Marcus Gilchrist likely done with the Jets due to a combination of injury & salary, what does everyone think about Jamal Adams?

He's not as big or fast as Sean Taylor (rest in peace) was, but I've heard some comparisons to him as a prospect.

Is Adams a free safety at the next level? Is he enough of a playmaker to warrant a top 10 pick?

The NFL is slowly turning towards former corners and converting them into free safeties, so we may be able to look at our own roster and find that (Juston Burris anyone?)

A true ball hawk and playmaking safety is also a lot more impactful in my opinion than a corner. Harder to throw away from a rover.

Adams is one of the best players this year, top 8 talent in this draft. Intelligent playmaker that can defend the run and cover. I believe he's a true FS and would be a welcome addition to our secondary. Our Safety play was horrible this year, tons of blown assignments. I've seen a few interviews and you can tell Adams is a true leader, something we need on our defense.

Adams or Reuben Foster would be my selections for the Jets at #6. Both are team leaders and would change the culture.

I don't think the Panthers regret taking Kuechly at 9, or the Chiefs taking Eric Berry at 5. If the talents there, then why not?

As WW said, players like that can completely change the culture of a defense.

No, not at all. Adams is a difference maker, he's just not valued as high by some.

Most just don't value the Safety position that high, but I believe Adams is a special player that should be in the top 10 at worst.

No doubt Adams is one of the best players in the draft. He has been much more productive than Jabril Peppers. I don't know if he is a true free safety. He played in the box a lot at LSU. Keep an eye on Derek Barnett from Tennessee as an outside pass rusher. The Jets need a lot of good players so I don't care what position they pick. Get a good player.

I'd love the Jets to draft Adams in the first round. He has been a stud at LSU and should be able to play both safety positions in the NFL.

You people are crazy..really. We score 16 points a game and you want them to totally waste another first round pick on a safety.

I don't know if this guy is a true FS, I think he might have a better impact closer to the box. But I love this guys talent / effort.

Respectfully, Don......who is this offensive savior at #6 to resurrect the Offense??? It/he doesn't exist!!!

Last time I looked, our defense was shredded the last 2 games, and break downs in the secondary were big part of it. Absolutely terrible reads and coverage in the middle of the field.

    The Jets need help everywhere!!!

IMO, he equally plays the run and coverage very well.

We need to pick a defensive player in the 1sr round for the next 40 years to complete the curse cycle

Sorry, I'm in firm belief you don't spend a very high draft pick on a RB . Elliott is one of the these few exceptions from last year, that has made it. Elliott's O-line has helped his transition to the NFL, the Jets need to address the O-line and this year is a down year for lineman. Fournette has potential to be a good player, but has been nicked up too, there are options at RB in later rds.

The Jets are so lacking at talent in many areas you take the BPA at #6........edge rusher, safety, CB or ILB are probably the best options at this time.
