Dudes 80yrs old, don’t need to hear anything to know he is near death. I respect that you threw out a name unlike everyone else but Ron Wolf no longer the answer. 20 yrs ago sure, should’ve never let him leave in the first place.
Lets end the charade..Forget the VP of football operations..Forget winning all together..let’s go for a wild & unpredictably entertaining.. Your brand new Jets regime... Director of player Personnel-Neil Glat General manager-Woody Johnson Head coach-Chris Johnson Have fun gathering invasive intell on these moguls,Foxboro.Championship!
I have a ton of respect for Polian. Sometimes he's alittle radical w. his philosophies but he knows how to build an actual team. For better or worse this team would have an identity & a prototype for every position.I'd throw him in the pool of candidates. That said I think this person should be coming from a different background than that of a former executive. I understand that this position in itself is an executive title but just think this person has to command respect on all 3 levels. Front office, coaching staff & locker room. That only comes with a former coach or player. Here's a few former Jets at least worth discussion. Wayne Chrebet,Chad Pennington & D'brickashaw Ferguson. All 3 have business acumen to view things big picture, all 3 are highly respected prototypical Jets & all 3 understand the game very well. Now do they want to & know how to lead a whole franchise?Who knows...
Why not 2 or all 3 of those names? I prefer Pennington from that group as I believe he is a football genius but with the other two to bounce ideas off of they could build a powerhouse. The part i bolded nails it. They could turn this team around for good. not just a season or 2. My only concern is no one from the D side of the ball but i'm sure between them it wouldn't be an issue.
I would say yes. It's obvious what Woody is currently doing is not working. How many more get out of jail free cards will blowes and Mac get? They should supervised and micromanaged until they can prove they can be successful without supervision.
Supervision aside they are just not that talented a duo That's why we need a HC with experience who knows Offense and a GM who wants to win not think twice before making more bad decisions and overpaying vets like Mac did on the learning curve we put him on The Jets have just been a School where former coaches and GMs start out and get experience ..a doormat that the Johnsons don't care about
You could give the keys to the castle to Orange County native, former Jets Director of Pro Personnel, Scott Pioli. football guy, through and through. And his father-in-law, you might have heard of him, a man by the name of Bill Parcells. Here's a nice read https://www.theringer.com/2017/2/2/...new-england-patriots-scott-pioli-a68370752813
He's with not with the Pats anymore. He is with Atlanta since 2014 as Assistant GM. Atlanta has been crushing it in the draft the past few years.... coincidence????????
How many of these "great" teams have been better than the Jets the last 15 or so years? Nice to use last season as the barometer.
He also bailed on the Jets and his father-in-law, Parcells, ran with Belichick to the Pats and then was a witness in defense of the Pats on the tampering case that followed. Not sure that he'd be welcomed with open arms here
Don't know how old you are but no one, anywhere wanted Belichick as a HC, never mind as a HC/GM. The deal that keep little Bill around to take over when Big Bill decided to step down was universally criticized as an awful move. To call the Jets the biggest joke is ridiculous. You should have been around when fans actually did boycott the Giants and not go to games. Had hired planes flying over the stadium calling for the team to be sold. Had Roselle threaten to take the team away from them, having George Young forced on them. The list goes on and on with other teams.
