I just looked up Post Malone and he looks like an asshole. Out of morbid curiosity, I watched 30 seconds of a music video of his with him sporting a man bun (I hate that shit!) and wanted to off myself. It was that bad. Almost a bad as PhillyStacks. I'm very glad of course that the pilot did an amazing job and that no-one perished. @FJF, I live 5 minutes away but had no idea it was going on until I saw it on the news, lol. I will regale you with some Stewart International Airport stories later - because you asked for it!
I'll start with one for now: The Breastfeeding a Baby Controversy. There was an exhibit with a bunch of local artists in the terminal (many of whom I know). Shawn Dell Joyce, a realist painter, had a painting up called 'She Nourishes'. People freaked out and complained that it was 'pornography'. Breast feeding is pornography? OK. And it wasn't even 'graphic' (as if breastfeeding is filthy disgusting in the first place). The painting was removed after several formal complaints, and it turned into a huge controversy. I don't see anyone complaining about 'Hustler' on magazine racks at airports, you? It was so stupid. I could see if it was a painting of someone taking a dump, but c'mon now. Yes, Orange County, NY, is the cultural armpit of the United States. I couldn't even find a life-drawing class/open studio until 1998 for fukk's sake because the human form, no can do, it's taboo. What? https://www.nytimes.com/2002/02/28/nyregion/removal-of-painting-irks-nursing-mothers.html EDIT & P.S.: More Stewart Stories to come.
Bottomless guy screaming and throwing suitcases by the baggage check, tackled by security. I'm sure he was methed up. Woman in front of me: "Is this the NYC subway?" "Well, we are a hop skip and jump from Newburgh." Newburgh is so bizarre. You have bucolic streets and sections and one street over, you'll get stabbed with a screwdriver. Well, there's town and city, and it has gotten WORLD'S better, but there are still a couple of side streets I wouldn't walk down in broad daylight unless I had my car keys ready to take out someone's eye. And this is coming from a city girl who knows how to handle herself. The days of bullet proof glass are still in effect on some parts of Liberty Street. It's a cool city with a ton of history as is the rest of the Lower Hudson River Valley, so no complaints in the end. It's vibrant and not nearly as depressing as it was years ago. The urban blight is improving. Crime has gone down somewhat, more stabbings than shootings the last couple of years, but still very rapey. I had a relative in the hospital this past December. F you St. Luke's Cornwall Hospital, not paying to park and I'll take my chances and park on the street for free. And I did for days, lol.
More from DefenseWinsChampionships: Did You Know? The overall crime rate in Newburgh is 61% higher than the national average. For every 100,000 people, there are 12.53 daily crimes that occur in Newburgh. Newburgh is safer than 5% of the cities in the United States. In Newburgh you have a 1 in 22 chance of becoming a victim of any crime. ^Damn, you should've seen it in the early to late 80s. This is child's play. There was a murder every other week. Fast forward, there was the whole Newburgh Latin Kings infiltration by the FBI back in 2012. The Latin Kings murdered a lot of people here (probably upwards of 30), bodies will never be found, and there are still folks who will never come forward and continue to live in fear of retribution. They killed a 15 year old in a drive by to jump some members in. The entire Hispanic community was terrorized. Fukk those assholes. But yeah, back to Stewart International Airport soon. ; )
Wasn't Soxxx from Newburgh? Though he spends more time in Poughkeepsie Fun Fact: Louis Vuitt.on is a banned word on TGG if you spell it correctly, you need to spell it with one T or put a space in there
But Soxxxx is into Bitcoin, so who are we to judge? The Galleria, you couldn't pay me to go to that shithole. I HATE Middletown and its environs. Hicks every two miles. There used to be an INCREDIBLE Mexican restaurant - as in authentic - years ago. Another one bites the dust. It's complete garbage now. Anyone remember the old Orange Plaza? The only thing decent about it was Spencer Gifts with fake dog shit, lava lamps, cigars that blew up, black lights that you could shine on weird raised velvet clown posters, and whoopee cushions. Ever pick your feet in Poughkeepsie? You are killing me softly these days. Good work.
I have bio relatives who hail from Poughkeepsie. Much of the city is getting re-gentrified, it's getting better, crime is declining. Who in the world hasn't been to The Chance back in the day, lol. However, I still refuse to watch 'The Poughkeepsie Tapes'. We ate at the Artist's Palate when it very first opened. It was empty, quiet, and really good. Third time around filled to the brim, still good but very noisy. If you can deal with people yelling over each other because the music is too loud, go eat there.
^Yung Bozz what the fukk with this shit. I guess he read Carl Jung once upon a time and ruminated on the Shadow Self and that's why he picked it? I told you more than once to read my Jets need a rap song post(s). I did it for fun and didn't even try yet I still win, WIN, WIN, I still WIN, WIN, I still WIN.
