I only recognize 3 names, don't really know any of these guys, if they are any better than our depth, have potential, or are fits for our zone scheme, but thought that perhaps some of you might know some or all of these players and know if any are worth signing. I heard the Colts will probably cut Austin Howard. He was a serviceable tackle for us, but I don't think he's the same player anymore.
Sad and pathetic. I go to the trouble to post some info that posters may be interested in, and all you can do is make a smart ass comment. Lame. If you and some of the other wise asses on this site spent half as much time contributing information or positive comment as you do being wise asses, this site would be a lot better off.
I was joking about you slipping, you usually do give the players ages though. There are about 20 sites tracking cuts up to the minute. Most knowledgeable fans are watching those sites, as of now, nothing worth reporting. If you want to contribute something of value, why copy and paste what you know nothing about? Next offseasoff you will copy and paste the names of every o line FA, add the disclaimer that you don't know anything about any of them but at 25 years old, they have to be better than what we have on the roster.
Rodrick Johnson could be someone to look at, had promise before his knee injury last season. Not a starting player at this point but has potential and is a year removed from injury. Would be a good fit in the ZBS
Quissenbury is a name.Decent guard/tackle.28 and of course from Texans zone scheme. They want to bring him back to practice squad. He alsi beat cancer in late 2017 https://www.google.com/amp/s/texans...s-cancer-survivor-set-for-practice-squad/amp/ Sean Harlow was a 4th round pick last year & Falcons play a Zbs https://www.google.com/amp/s/thefal...8/08/31/falcons-2018-roster-cuts-tracker/amp/ Austin Fleer is 25 6”6 305 was signed off waivers from Bengals 2 weeks ago & Broncos want to put on PS.
Last year I complained about the Jets offensive line and as far as I can tell, it still sucks. What have the Jets done to improve the situation, oh ya Wesley Johnson is gone? Look I am no expert on Offensive lineman but unless the Jets do something in this area, they are never going to be a good team. I just hope your franchise QB doesn't get shell shocked playing with this line. You might get lucky and find a good backup in this list, but not drafting any lineman in the draft made no sense to me. The draft had a lot of good guards which is even more puzzling to me.
Andrew Donnal might be worth a look. 4th rounder so not some UDFA...some talent there Jeremiah Poutasi too. Absolutely massive 6'5 335 and a former 3rd rounder Austin Pasztor has started 40+ games in his career.
Intriguing. He is 31 now but did start all 16 games for the Ravens last year. However with so much focus on keeping Luck healthy if they're jettisoning an offensive lineman it probably means he's shot
Wesley Johnson is no one to "shrug off" as he was rated 32nd, dead last amongst all starting NFL Centers and has since been replaced by Spencer Long who was one of 2018's best Free Agent Centers and a big time upgrade over Wesley Johnson. I can tell you don't know anything at all about our O-Line but when healthy (which he currently is) Kelvin Beachum is a very, very good NFL starting LT. And heading into his 2nd season as a Jet he should feel a lot more comfortable and ready to protect Sam's blind side just, as he did Roethlisberger's as a Pittsburgh Steeler. And opposite of Kelvin Beachum is Brandon Shell @ RT (who's the great nephew of HOF legend OT, Art Shell). This kid is absolutely massive @ 6'5 325 lbs and as only a 2nd year player out of South Carolina started 12 games for us last year. And showed so much promise while doing so; easily has the potential to become our best RT since dating back to Damien Woody. Sky is the limit heading into his 3rd year. And at Guard we are decent to pretty good with both size and starting experience in former 1st rounder out of Alabama in James Carpenter who's an animal at 6'5 321 lbs and a starting NFL LG with 93 games consisting of 87 starts under his belt along with Brian Winters who's another big hog @ 6'4 320 lbs and a very underrated 5th year starter with 55 career starts under his belt. Our O-Line could be much improved upon last year and a unit I'm actually looking forward to watching progress. If I were a Patriots fan I'd be petrified of your O-Line. It's really not impressive, at all and the days of Nate Solder and Logan Mankins seem to be long gone. More question marks than answers and you all had a pretty shitty/mediocre offseason...
I admire your loyalty to the jets, but Macagnan has used just 2 of 28 draft picks to select an offensive lineman and both in round FIVE. Someone needs to tell Maccagnan that you need FIVE quality offensive lineman per offensive PLAY, more than any other position in football. And his ignorance of the need for a quality OL shows--Darold won't survive the season behinds the current group of retreads--and God help the jets if there is an injury--Brent Quavle spent more time being knocked back on his wallet in preseason than standing upright.
Looks like Jonathan Cooper is getting cut, coming off a knee surgery in the off season but played 60+ snaps in the final preseason game. Would be a good pick up for depth or to push Winters for starting gig Edit: TJ Clemmings another possibility
The Redskins cut OL TJ Clemmings. Wasn't he a pretty highly rated OT prospect 2-3 years ago? OG Jonathan Cooper cut by the Niners. I remember just a few years ago, posters were going crazy that the Jets didn't use their #1 pick on Cooper or Warmack. Both have been cut, and I think each is on his 2nd or 3rd team. Yeah, we should have used our 1st round pick on one of those guys.
The TItans cut OL Nico Falah, T Laurence Gibson, OL Tyler Marz, OL Elijah Nkansah, OG Xavier Su'a- Filo & OL Cody Wichman Su'a-Filo used to be pretty good, I think (but could be wrong). If nothing else, he knows the zone blocking scheme. He might be a good signing.
