I will pass on Eric simply because he is losing his skills...not just because he is old. I would prefer grabbing someone with speed in the draft.
I don't think so. We have a decent first 3, and a handful of TEs. There are too many other positions that need more attention right now. I wouldn't be upset to pick him up, but I think the money could be better spent elsewhere.
4 years ago I would have given him head to come to our team, now, he's just another old guy to me. Once a guy is in his 30's, he should play for a win now team-- which we certainly are not. No McGinist either-- he would play 2 years- maybe help us get back to respectability, then he would be cut, and leave us with 4 million dead cap space right as we are in position to do something good. Not to mention, he's really slow, and really corney.
I really don't think we need anyone right now. Until we know what type of guy we have tossing the ball, we are better off sticking with the guys we have. It's not a critical need, and we have enough of those right now to worry about.
