Lamar Woodley not in the first round:eek:hmy: if that happened and we were able to get Lynch and Woodley in the same draft, that would be great.

I can see us taking Lynch or Bush but I would really like Woodley though.Either of those will make me happy.

I want Woodley too and I think it is a good possibility. I think we can grab Michael Bush in the second round

That would be the perfect draft imo. That would fill two huge needs.

As much as I love Leon Washington, I think after this year he will be relegated to a kevin faulk type role. Which is 3rd down back and KR...

Marshawn Lynch would give us a RB who can play everydown and can do it all.

If there is one thing the Jets need it is a playmaking RB. I don't know what the longest run for the Jets is this season, but I am willing to bet its only 20 something.

I am not so sure we will be in position to grab Lynch so a trade up may be necessary to get him.

Washington is still developing and may with CMs help turn out to be a real steal. Its an interesting situation , go for a back early on or fill one of the other VERY pressing needs. I think that we may pass on RB in the early rounds and pick up an experienced RB on FA

Absolutely love this pick. Marshawn running behind D'Brick, and Mangold? Great pick.
2nd round we should look at a DE/OLB impact player.

If the draft went that way, I wouldn't be so quick to pass up Paul Posluszny.

With two second rounders we could get a RB and either a RT or a guard for the OL.

Wow, getting Marshawn would be a dream come true.

If we can then steal an effective 3/4 DE or backer in the 2nd round, I'd be ecstatic. The future looks good. Thank you Washington for last year!

Just looking at Marshawn Lynch, I can guess his character is probably a little out there and I can't see Mangini picking a guy that looks like THAT.

No. It's been proven countless times, that if you're not getting an elite runningback, then you can succeed with a second/third rounder.

Look at Cedric Benson and Ronnie Brown. Benson can't crack the starting lineup and Brown pussy foots his way into the hole. It's all about value and picking up backs like Maurice Jones-Drew is a great way to build a franchise through value.

Gimme a Kenneth Darby or DeShawn Wynn late, rather then use my high pick on a position that can be solved by adding a good right tackle. I think you only take runningbacks high when you need to address the face of the franchise, or you need to replace your current starter soon with someone of similar running style (i.e. Maroney and Dillon even though Dillon is more powerful), and also don't have that many needs.

Appearantly he's the next Dante Culpepper... I disagree big time. He may have the ability, but his decision making is way too inconsistent to be a top 10 pick, IMO.

I love how many teams passed on Dwayne Jarrett in the first, including us. I think he's a poor man's Chris Carter, and that's pretty damn good.

The next Daunte Culpepper, a dubious distinction!

Cause he has dreads, Asante Samuel has dreads and Mangini had to "deal" with him.

How come Troy Smith isnt in the first round?
I see him as an awesome passer who can run and hes gotta be the best qb in the draft...

He runs a lot of spread offense at Ohio State which doesn't always translate cleanly into the pros. But, I personally think Troy Smith is a better draft prospect then Russell, because Smith shows up for the big games year in and year out, and he's also a very smart decision maker. So who knows - I personally think that the Russell pick screws up a mock draft that is very, very intelligent through the first 6 picks.
