Before he ran the 40 he was the third ranked WR on most boards: http://www.nfl.com/draft/2017/profiles/john-ross?id=2558010 "Hands are generally solid. Plus hand-eye coordination. Natural ball-tracker who locates the deep ball early and watches it. Dangerous show-and-go open-field ability after the catch."
Draft him in the 3rd round, he won't be taken till then. Did you get a chance to see the offensive linemen?
Ross won't make it out of the top 15. Lamp looked impressive in every single drill. Not sold on the rest of the OL.
I have no problems with a great WR, but it's not a position that the jets are lacking at this point. Decker, Anderson, Enunwa, Peake he is not going to see the field behind those guys. You know how TB works.
John Ross was the number 3 wideout even before his 40. To say he will make it out of the first round is insane, and he may have just pushed his way into the top 15 as possibly the second wideout chosen.
Two thoughts about him: 1. You need a QB to get him the ball. 2. Just heard he's undergoing shoulder surgery, added to the torn left ACL in 2015, and then coming up lame today. Probably a HR threat, but is he right for the Jets as a 1st round pick? I agree that he isn't going to fall to even the 2nd round.
There were about 4 guys on that OL lineup that were solid and Cam was one of them, i know how guys feel about Cam on this board but he didn't hurt his reputation one bit. Even if the jets don't take him, I'm sure he will be selected top 15.
How many teams want a 5"11 WR with a top 15 pick? It's not all about speed. The guys that are selected at the top of the draft are usually 6"3, 215 and fast with an extremely polished all around game. He is slotted as kick returner and a slot receiver, I don't know many teams who will pick him with a top 15 pick, if that's what his role is going to be.
The kid was a likely top 20 pick before the 40. I have concerns about his injury history and ability to stay healthy going forward. Everyone that knows anything about the draft knew he was going to fly but he can also play pretty good football. The talk of not before the 3rd is beyond ridiculous. Your right about the size, but Odell was an incredible prospect coming out in 2014, you think this kid is at the same level as Odell? I watched a lot of LSU games that year because of Odel, Mettenberger and the LSU team in general.
So was Johnny lam Jones, another epic bust by the Jets. Why are we even discussing a WR, that's the equivalent to drafting another DL, Jesus
