They project Mebane as a mid-rounder then having us take a guy in their profile they say may project as a backup. If the draft shook up that way and I hope it does my first two picks would be Moses and Blalock.

LOVE the Moses pick, but why would we go Mebane and Irons with our next picks?

There are many better DE's in this draft that Mebane IMO, and we have a Kenny Irons (and I like that one better).

I think those are older scouting reports. I believe he had a very good Senior Bowl and could move up even higher after the combine.

Even worse, theyre projecting Mebane as our 3-4 nose tackle. Im cool with the 1st rd pick, but not satisfied with either 2nd rd picks. I'd prefer:

    1st. Moses
2a. Sidney Rice or Justin Blalock or Greg Olsen
2b. a powerback(and I dont mean Bush, he "dances" too much)

Mebane would play NT. He was as impressive as the media darling Omobi Okoye during the Senior Bowl. He was unstoppable and handled the double team very well. He has great size at 6-2 305-310 lbs. I can see the Jets taking him to rotate with D-Rob. I would take Anthony Spencer over Quentin Moses though. I think they will fill the DE need in the second or third round.

I see Mebane more as a 3-4 DE than a NT. He seems to me to be a poor man's Adam Carriker

    Why Spencer over Moses?

I like both quite a bit, but I give Moses the slight edge in physical tools and projectability.

I agree, I think it might be a blessing in disguise that Moses had a poor senior season. I'm sure that as long as the guy doesn't have character issues, Mangini would be able to whip him back into shape. I thought I read somewhere that Moses was really smart as well and got good grades while at school.

As long as his troubles were only really a case of senioritis setting in (which is what it seems), the guy's a steal and a half at 25.

Before the Senior Bowl my preference was Woodley, Moses, Spencer. I sat down and watched every Senior Bowl practice and the game. I felt Spencer had a much quicker first step during work outs and was preasurring the QB all game. Moses just didn't look as explosive as Spencer did. There was one play in particular I remember. Spencer flushed Chris leak out of the pocket. Leak completed a pass to the flat for an 8 yard gain..the person who ended the play was Spencer. His motor just nevr stops. He ran from one end of the field to the other. That is a player I want.

If Polusnzy is there at 25, it would be a crime to let him go.

    With that mock:

    Trade from #25 to #30-33 and mid-thirdrounder.

Trade said 3rd rounder and 2b for #53ish and 4th rounder.
Trade Brandon Moore for a 5th Rounder....

    #30ish: Anthony Spencer OLB
    #37: Justin Blalock OG
    #53: Quinn Pitcock DE
    #89: Brian Leonard FB
#115ish: Jeff Samardzia (I'm gunna get killed for this pick >_>)
    #145ish: Rodney Hannah TE
    #154: Tyrone Moss RB
    #185: LT/RT
    #193: Safety

Well, might as well turn this into a "I would piss myself if this happens offseason" post........

    QB: Chad, Ramsey, Clemens
RB: Houston, Washington, Tyrone Moss (Cut Blalock/Barlow of course)
    FB: Brian Leonard, BJ Askew
WR: Coles, Cotch, Zamardzia, Smith, Wallace Wright (Or Tim Dwight)
TE: Baker, Pociask, Rodney Hannah, Sean Ryan, James Dearth (Either Pociask, Askew or Ryan will be cut)

OL: D-Brick, Kendall, Mangold, Blalock, Clement

NT: Dwayne Robertson, Rashad Moore, Pouha/Alifalalalopo (sp? lol)
DE: Pitcock, Ellis, Hamilton, some other person >_>
OLB: Spencer, Hobson, Thomas, Banta Cain, Chatham
    ILB: Kassell, Vilma, Barton, Schegal
CB: Asante Samuel, Andre Dyson, Justin Miller, Hank Poteat, Drew Coleman
S: Rhodes, Coleman, Smith, Rashad, Draftee

BTW the Roster listing is in no particular order.... (Any rememaining members from 2006 not listed were cut >_>)

    I can dream can't I?

Although I love Poluski, he wouldn't fit anywhere in our defence......

Samarzdja just signed on with Major League Baseball. We couldn't blow a 4th round pick on him. It wouldn't be a bad idea to risk a 7th round pick on him if all else goes well. If he ever wants to play in the NFL, it would be a nice steal in the 7th.

Really? I had no clue, no wonder I've seen him rated so low....

Like the Moses pick, hate the other 2. Replace Irons with Bush and then maybe I can like the three draft picks.
