he only lost 15 million cause the rest of the money he would have made with the contract had he took it, he'll still make this upcoming year. they only had 33 mil guaranteed and 45mil paid over the 1st 3 years so he was going to make 15 mil this season either way. that's what he lost out on but from the reports i'm seeing he's likely going to get around 15 mil a season. likely a 4 year 60 mil contract fully guaranteed. that's a pretty big difference in guaranteed money

I'm on the fence about Jets going after Bell. If I had more confidence in our ability to find gems in the draft I would say hell no, but we miss more than we hit. Smart of him not to report IMO. He had much to loose, not much to prove. Pricks wanted to ride the donkey and save Conner for the play offs with Bell as a back up. Bell wasn't even on football shape. I Hear the classy Steeler players ransacked Bell's locker, took his personal shit and toss it around like rioters. Such a classy bunch. I would love to see KC ramrod 40 points up their ass on their way to taking NE down in the playoffs. May be, just may be, Bell figured out that underneath the " football legacy of the Steelers" there are a bunch of jealous, greedy prima donnas, and he said fuck you, you guys don't think I'm worth it. Next year he will be bench marked along the lines of Gurley, so we will see what the market will bear.
Mean time in Jets land what we really need is an OL like the Steelers, then the runners can really shine. Bell behind the Jets line will be slightly better than Powell....that is about it. I'm dying to see what we do in FA along the OL. That is where the meat of the money and the focus needs to go. That and a damned pass rusher.

Gurley gets 15 mill per year, 4 year $60 million. But only $21.95 is fully guaranteed.
No one is giving Bell over $60 million guaranteed. He turned down an offer that guaranteed over $30 million. $70 total , had he blown out his knee he would have been paid full.

What personal shit do you think was in Bells locker? He never reported, hasn't been in the building since last year. Everything was team issued. Nothing he owned.

Suit, personal shoes, few odds and end. nothing he will miss for long, certainly not any Steeler gear. Be nice seeing Bell run through those boys when they meet face to face next year.

Everything this team does ultimately leads to disappointment.

Who else are the Jets gonna sign with all that cap space? It’s not like we have any homegrown talent to resign and the free agent scrap heap is always garbage. We gonna sign $106M worth of JAGs?

Tbh I’d rather give $17M a year to Bell than Leo...

I'd rather split it up between TJ yeldon and Tevin Coleman, throw what's left into a deal for G Rodger Saffold.
The same if not more production, less headaches.

You can’t just sign a bunch of average running backs and say they’ll match Bell’s production.

If you add Crowell and Powell’s rushing totals, they exceed those of Kareem Hunt. But they don’t bring the same impact to a team that Hunt does.

I don't care for Yeldon but Coleman always looked dangerous running 2nd behind Freeman, maybe he has been a little above average this season but don't think the Falcons have been playing that great either.

And if you take away the Denver game they no doubt will not exceed Hunt's.
