if the Browns have any hesitation in bringing Gordon back this offseason we need to be all over him. he is a playmaker. I wanted to trade for him at the deadline. then we could either also sign Maclin or draft a receiver (Holmes will be gone and Hill just plain sucks) thoughts on adding Gordon? I know some aren't high on him (pun not intended) but I think he could be detrimental to Geno Smith or another QB, if we decide to go that route.
lol i don't think you used detrimental correctly even though i understood what you meant i'd add him in a HEARTBEAT
I doubt they give up Gordon but if they do we should make a move for him. Yes I've changed my stance.
Weren't they dangling him for a 2nd round pick? Big fear is he is 1 strike from a full year suspension. Was worth the risk.
LOL at thinking people here wouldnt have traded a 2nd for him... The guy is easily a top 10 WR right NOW.
Remember when people on here didn't want to give up a freaking 3rd round pick for him? lol, about that...Hes not going anywhere anymore.
Had more catches than Geno had completions. And what twice the yards Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Right now he's 3rd in the NFL in yards per game receiving. Behind only Calvin Johnson and Julio Jones. 2nd of your only counting receivers who are still playing. This guy is an absolute stud. Right now, he's top 5 in my list, probably even top 3, and he's got Jason Campbell and Brandon Weeden throwing him the damn ball.
I wanted to give a 2nd rounder before the deadline. Right now, I'd give a first rounder without thinking twice. Guy is an animal.
They sure as hell wont get rid of him now, but we had the opportunity to 5 weeks ago. We screwed the pooch on that one.
we aren't in postion to give up a second round pick for a player with this kind of risk behind him. we should be holding on to our picks dearly, not trading them for a player that might be gone long enough for his trade to be in vain.
Brandon Browner says hello. Look, if Josh Gordon didn't have the substance abuse problem that has already resulted in a suspension and left him on thin ice he'd have been worth the 2nd round pick plus that the Browns were looking for. However if he was clean he wouldn't have been on the trading block at all. The answer is to go draft a real WR prospect early in the draft next year, maybe two of them. That's how you find the guys who will be stars for you. Mike Wallace is averaging $12M a year on the Fins cap with a lot of guaranteed money in the mix and he's on pace for about 65 catches and 3 TD's. That's not how you spend $12M on the cap and get ahead in the process. And yeah they backloaded the deal so he'd only count $3M this year. That makes next year's hit in the Calvin Johnson range and the rest of the contract at the third highest cap hit for a WR over 4 years aside from Cj and Larry Fitzgerald.
