As 3 matches left and adding 3 L to all team's standing who is currently not in PO position, it seems in worst case, we will draft at 14th. Of course, I know that it's impossible that all teams getting 3 L's, but wanted to calculate our worst case draft situation.
Now that Tannehill is out for the year with an acl this scenario is even more possible and disgusting. Typical jets to win 2 out of their last 3 and plummet in draft position.
Going into three division games, two with minor playoff implications for our opponents, I'll be rooting for the Jets to win every game. I'd rather Bryce Petty build on every week and improve and win some games and then have the 14th pick then the Jets play like the Kotite era Jets and get the 4th pick.
Jets were in the 5th pick yesterday prior to the 49ers game because we lost in strength of schedule to the Bears. Well, now that we won we are now in a tie with the Rams. We win the tiebreaker with the Rams because the Jets already lost to the Rams this season. So I guess no harm, no foul. I'm happy Petty got confidence building experience yesterday and the Jets won. I just don't want them to win again and I'm certain they won't. The Jets are not good enough to beat Miami, NE, Or Buffalo...
Miami is without a QB, so we beat them easily. We always split with NE and will win in OT again this year. Buffalo will be resting their starters in preparation for Rex getting fired, so we win that one too. 7-9
They slipped to 6th actually, and with the remaining games left, I wouldn't be surprised if Jets pull off the patented "win a few meaningless games to end the season, and subsequently screw up their draft position" They did in 2014, they may do it again this season.
Maine Jet "I just don't want them to win again and I'm certain they won't. The Jets are not good enough to beat Miami, NE, Or Buffalo... How can you be a JET fan if you want them to lose?
Head to head is not a tiebreaker for draft order, strength of schedule is. Rams have a weaker schedule so currently ahead of jets. However, rams host the 9ers and cardinals last two weeks, so they could win a game. The good news for the jets is even if they win another game, they have a tie breaker over the other teams and might not move past 6. I'd love to beat the dolphins and stop them from playoffs. http://www.sbnation.com/nfl/2016/12/11/13915412/nfl-draft-order-2017-browns-49ers-jaguars-jets-bears
Who the fuck rests their starters because their coach is being fired? Do you ever think before you post?
I think all this worrying about the first round draft order doesn't make sense. Unless there were a total stud QB in the first round, a high first round pick is just as likely to end up a waste of money, or if not a waste, good enough to play but not good enough to warrant the money. Even if the #6 pick turns out to be great, one player does not make a team great (see J.J. Watt). If I were the Jets I would take a hint from other successful teams and trade the first round pick for multiple picks in rds 2-3-4 and take the lower round picks and trade them collectively for one middle round pick. This team needs lots of good players, not one great player. Ron
We actually dropped to 7th apparently, Matt Miller has 1) Browns, 2) 49ers 3) Jaguards 4) Bears 5) Titans (pick acquired in trade from LA Rams) 6) Panthers 7) Jets
If they have found a QB who cares where they draft. Free Agency is more important anyway. The last games are to find out if Petty can be an above average QB for the club going forward. If he is they need to find some receivers and linemen who can help him.
