why Irons! we need a big back, i would love him, but we have leon washington. also i love that were talking to woodley, kid is a player. and i dont know about those trade talks....
Perhaps, being as exhaustive as they are, Tangini is making sure the understand deeply the entire running back class and that Irons is one of dozens of similar conversations they will have. Let's not jump to conclusion
It is safe to say that the Jets and chargers are working out a trade for Turner. The Broncos and Redskins are probably discussing a possible trade where Denver moves up in the draft so that they can select Adrian Peterson.
Everyone is so enamored with first round picks. At this point there really isn't much difference in the caliber of player the Jets could get at 25 or 37. If the Jets feel Turner is the real deal & a first round pick is what it takes, I'm all for it..
If you've ever watched Kenny Irons play, you could never say he plays like Leon. He isn't the biggest back, but he runs hard...watch him play his senior year and his junior year and its a different player. Keep in mind he did run for about 1300 yards his junior year, and was SEC OFFENSIVE PLAYER OF THE YEAR. He played injured all of last year, and it showed...but that probably impresses some people more than putting up stud numbers again. I've been a huge Irons supporter throughout, and would love to have him on the Jets. Woodley fact in simple is a player, in a winning tradition, in a 3-4 system that can rush the QB...what's not to like. They are both big players who are big performers for big winning programs, and I think thats something this regime values.
Irons measured 5-11/203 irons is actually bigger and maybe faster than leon. i wouldnt mind these two guys as our 2nd rd pick.
I really don't like Irons that much...simply because he isn't a bigger back. If he could add 15-20 pounds than yeah I would be happy, but 203 at 5-11 isn't that impressive. All the pictures I have seen of Kenny Irons shows me a guy who has small arms and thin legs...
the reality is this he has the frame to get bigger as to were leon dont. when a rbs main weakness is bulk i can live with that. look at norewood last year he is very skinny . and still was one of the better rookie rbs last year.im not saying he is a must pick but i rather him than michael bush who dropped 20lbs to date because of his injury.
I've thought about Iron's a bit. Apparently he had an ankle injury all year that limited his cutting ability and explosiveness but now that he's healthy he looks fantastic. If he falls to our second 2nd rounder I think it's a no brainer but depending how good he looks during the workouts and how well his interview goes I could see him with 37.
why does that report question his drive and commitment? I dont know much about this guy. is there reason to question these things?? because theres arentthings you like to hear about a guy
Yet he has the two key components that Michael Turner lacks which are vision and his ability to catch the football. I'd much rather see a first round guard then trade it away for a one dimensional runningback who has never pass protected in the NFL.
