That’s a fight between Turks and Greeks. As a Kurdish infidel I got no dog in this fight but Istanbul is one of the most breathtaking cities in the world.

I used to smoke weed with a dude years ago who served in the military in the 1970s. He claimed there was a secret tunnel right down the center of Istanbul that we were hiding from the Soviets. Was it just the marijuana talking or would that be possible? Thanks

They filled it with water and called it the Bosphorus.

Btw @Brook! I'll be picking your brains about Istanbul. It's firmly on the radar for Mrs Donkey and I.

You will not be disappointed if you visit. But DO NOT travel alone. Join a guided tour and you should be fine.

Am going to Turkey later in the year @Brook!. Not Instanbul but flying into Izmir and then off to a beach resort in Kusadasi. Want to go to Ephesus which is only about 20 miles away, am thinking of using the local buses. No to goats though!!

I hope you aren't traveling alone. Go with a group. Izmir is one of the most beatiful cities in Turkey. I stayed at Kusadasi many times mostly for banging hot girls coming via cruise boats. Kusadasi is a major port for cruises. You will enjoy your time there. Eat Adana Durum and you will thank me.

Istanbul: think San Francisco with fewer syringes lying around, more mustaches (men & women) and a cityscape dominated by the beautiful Blue Mosque.

Also home to Galatasaray SK and their arsonist fanbase who faithfully trek to Türk Telekom Stadium singing the Galatasary fight song:
