We're in England, for context. A friend, seeing a guy in a Jets woolly hat, showed him her Jets gloves, saying 'Jets suck'. He looked pissed off and offended. Was she wrong? Is that a fair greeting between Jets fans? If it was me, I'd have said, 'Aye, but we don't cheat.'
I mean, did she just walk away after that? I would find that odd. If she said "Jets suck" and then we laughed and talked about them for a minute it would be cool. To say "Jets suck" and keep walking would be puzzling if I was the woolly hat Jets fan.
I'd saying he's being a bit of a poofter, or is that just an aussie saying? (you're friend of course )
Okay, yeah, then that is more on him than her. Might just be a jerk with no sense of humor. The average Jets fan would laugh and then talk about them.
Being pissed off and offended by someone saying "Jets suck" (especially a fellow Jets fan) sounds to me like being pissed off and offended by someone saying "The sun rises in the east."
