Won't insurance cover Tannehill's salary? They are only paying Cutler a little less than half that so actually they aren't overpaying at all..shit, we paid the beard 12M last year and Cutler won't be any worse than that bum was.
Kap will never play in Miami. His pro Castro comments burned that bridge. The vast majority of season ticked holders are Cuban and would boycott the team. Remember Kiko Alonso trying to hurt Kap last season and the hate Kap faced from the crowd. It's not about his Afro or race in Miami, but his ignorant comments and alienating a very large community that keeps the money flowing in Ross's wallet.
No, insurance won't cover his salary. Lol It's paid by the team. It's about the only guaranteed portion of most contracts. Look at Glennon and Osweiler's contracts. You are right. He is far from being overpaid.
Seeing as they're going nowhere anyway, I would've gone with Moore as my QB, or signed a QB from someone else's practice squad. I fail to see the point of signing Cutler. Again, did they not pay attention to what he did in Chicago? He only even started that many games for the Bears because they were saddled with the idiotic contract they gave him.
If a player gets injured, the team pays his salary. I don't know where this insurance talk is coming from. The team pays the player for doing nothing. Tannehill's salary is under $18 million this season so it's more than half that.
That's true but there is something to be said for that. Results wise it was better than every season being a "rebuilding" year like we've seen since. It would be nice to have some "must win" again here someday
During his presser, Cutler revealed that he thinks he doesn't have to be in shape because he's a quarterback....
They are both 3 games under.500 for their careers so in that respect its a complete wash but in regards to Pansyhill, its hard to win football games when you are hurt. Advantage Gay Cutler
Some teams do get insurance on their highest paid players to get some money back if that player is unable to play. They'll still pay the player but the insurance company will have to pay the team. I know the Broncos had a policy that paid them back $10M of Peyton's $20M salary if he was unable to play for any reason besides his neck. But it is few and far between, mostly they just chance it and hope the player doesn't get hurt.
No, Tannehill is 5 years younger. He's been a better QB than Cutler. Tannehill was 8-5 last season. Cutler was 1-4 last season. Cutler was 6-9 in 2015. Cutler has made teams worse his entire career, from college into the pros.
Anyone can take out insurance, of course. Teams can, players can (if they're due a big contract, for example, and are worried, or if they're in college). He was claiming there's built-in insurance for all players. Unless teams want to go our and purchase policies specific to the player, they have nothing.
