Yea maybe if herm was still here. but chad is a 29 yr old qb coming off two major injuries to his throwing arm. you will be lucky if he is our #2 qb

Assuming we get another 1st round pick for Abe and Penny stays, let's have a look at the roster.

QB - Penny, Brooks - 1st day pick, 1st round if Penny's prognosis isn't very good.
RB - Martin, Houston, Blaylock - I like Lendale in the 1st, but we're stacked here already with Martin taking the paycut. I wouldn't spend even a 1st day pick here.
OL - Jones, Kendall, Mawae, Moore, Cavka - Cavka is a ? and we have no depth. We could certainly spend 2 1st day picks here (assuming Kendall or Mawae are gone). Jones is our LT though, so we need to upgrade RT. D'Brick just doesn't make sense for us. I want a RT late in round 1, and a OC or OG in round 2 or 3.
WR - Coles, Cotchery, McCareins - We're set here.
TE - Baker, Jolley, Dreesen - We're set here.

DE - Ellis, Robertson, Thomas, Reed - Good talent and depth.
NT - Pouha, Robertson, Reed - Pouha is unproven, and Robertson and Reed are not 3-4 DT's. I spend a 1st day pick here.
LB - Barton, Vilma, Brown, Hobson - Virtually no depth, and a backup starting. This is why Hawk is a great 1st pick for us.
SS - Celestin, Rhodes, Coleman, Maddox - Plenty of safeties.
CB - Miller, Barret, Straight - I'd happily spend a 1st day pick here.

Assuming Penny is good to go:

    1st round - LB, RT
    2nd/3rd round - NT, QB, OG/C, CB

We get a pick for Abe, and hopefully a 3rd round comp pick for Jordan. We're going to need another pick. Think anyone would give us a 2nd rounder for Robertson? He's going to be the odd man out in the new defense...

    From SI:
"Quarterback Jay Cutler continued the momentum he built in January's Senior Bowl. He was accurate during his workout, displaying a live arm and the ability to throw all the passes. Cutler's interviews were another matter as teams were not as impressed during one-on-one sit downs with the Vanderbilt product."

Criticism for Cutler? It's about time!!!
