Trying to get a feeling for how the rest of the league feels about this issue.

    I'd REALLY try keeping both...

but I'd try to ship Rivers away first, then draft a QB in the 3rd or 4th round ;)

I'd keep Brees but it looks like it's gonna be Rivers. Weird....

    Rivers...

    Reason...

History is on your side. there has yet to be an NFL QB make a successful comeback from a Torn Rotator Cuff injury in the NFL. While Rivers might be an unknown, he's healthy.

Ditto. Brees had the worst injury in his career, a meaninglass season finale cost him millions upon millions.

Can I have a link to his injury? Was it a serious tear like Chads or what?

Wow, sucks to lose it all on the most meaningless of games.

I'm no doctor, but he tore his labrum. Is that the same as a rotator cuff?

I think the Chargers have seen Rivers practice and know if he can be a good player in this league. He is younger, and has more money invested in him and much more potential. You gotta go with Rivers now that Brees is hurt because who knows he could be just like Chad.

Torn labrum is very different, it doesn't affect throwing speed that much if at all, it has about a 4 month recovery time, it doesnt become a chronic problem and it's very unlikely he will tear it again. It is the most feared injury for pitchers though due to its difficulty to diagnose and treat plus they use less rotator cuff and more of that area to throw. Its not like pennington's injury at all. They are getting rid of brees because they can't give him the contract he wants, it's too much money invested in QB's.

Brees is expected to make a full and complete recovery. There's never a garantee with sports injuries - but he's expected back at full health with no lingering effects in just a few months.

    The great AJ Feeley! :rofl2:

I would keep Brees, just because he's proven himself, even though he was hurt last year. You can also probably get a lot for Rivers because he's younger and not coming of an injury.

I say you shop both, get an understanding of what each's value may be and make the decision from there.

Assuming that they would be able to get at the very least an early 2nd rounder or so for either I'd think you have to go with Brees. He's only 26 and has proved himself at this level.
