Brees has already been healed for almost a month from his injury and is already throwing passes. No Charger fan wants rivers over brees right now because with brees we have a legit shot at the super bowl.... but we can't sign brees for 10 mil plus and use half of our 23 million dollars in cap room on Brees. If Rivers does happen to stay the Chargers will look to the likes of steve hutchinson the draft and the best secondary players available for a cushion to the mistakes rivers will make. Given his time on the bench and seeing him on the field I say give Rivers 6-8 weeks and he will be a quality starter.
Yes the rumor is the Chargers are rolling the dice here. They feel due to DB injury nobody will take a shot so they offered him 2M for this upcoming season 6M for next season & he gets his signing bonus at the beginning of the 3rd season of the new contract
