well, for this to work the skins would have to tag cousins, once mayfield fell to us we would trade the pick for cousins and he would sign a pre negotiated long term deal. i don't see how it could work any other way. a lot of moving parts to that, cousins has to agree to a deal on the hope mayfield makes it there. Redskins have to gamble 34m that they can unload him . We have to hope mayfield is there since we would likely not address qb in feee agency having this deal framed. It’s not a likely scenario
Agreed, not likely, but stranger things have happened. What's the possibility that the Jets simply trade the #6, plus maybe another pick, and Wilkerson for Cousins after they sign him? That takes the uncertainty of Baker falling to 6 out of the equation.
that is more likely but i can't see anyone trading for mo, everyone knows he is getting cut and not worth that contract. i think a more liekly scenario if ,and thats a big if i think, the skins tag him mac sends our 1 and seattle 2 if they can work out a contract.as much as i would love to sign cousins i would not like that.
I'm a little confused. If there were a QB you believed was at least as good as Cousins in the draft and you could give up the #6 and the Seatlle #2 to move to get him, you wouldn't do that?
6 + 2nd + the cap space is starting to get steep.i don't mind cousins taking up the cap space when you can add pieces around him for cheap. if i am giving up the cap space and the premium picks i am starting to limit the time the window will be open because i am going to be missing 2 cheap players.

I would see it as a sign and trade scenario. They would let us talk to his agent for the numbers and term. In the ball park of Carr’s contract. Then we send them #6 for Kirk. Done ✅
Why not just let him hit FA? He's not a restricted FA ... they could apply the transition tag and we could submit an offer the Redskins couldn't match. Keep that pick.
Couldn't possibly disagree more. Trade the #6 pick in the draft for a 28 year-old QB who isn't an elite QB? No way, Jose. Then you gotta pay that QB a ton of money, Besides, Cousins is a FA, so Washington can't trade Cousins unless they sign him, and if they can sign him (something they haven't been able to do the last several years without franchising him), why would they trade him? Why should the Jets want to pay him like he's the top QB in the game when he isn't even close?
Mac should be fired to even think about trading the #6 plus pay all that cash for 30 year old QB.. I would rather have the Jets draft Mayfield and play him the first day. And I never thought I'd say this but I'm beginning to warm up to the idea of the Jets taking him at #6.
Skins won’t let him walk for free.. they would rather give him 34 mil... Sign and trade they get the compensation they are after and Kirk gets the deal he wants and the Jets get a vet top 10 QB
Kirk Cousins has been a top 10 QB in the league the past 3 years?! I believe as high as 6. When you can get a proven top 10 QB over a boom or bust prospect you take the proven guy all day
