I'm going to list the starting roster that I would be more than happy with entering week 1 of the 2013 season and that I think could be assembled. Offense: QB- Nick Foles RBs- Powell + 2nd Rd Pick (Gio Bernard if available) FB- Hilliard/Cheap FA WRs- Holmes + Bray + Kerley TEs- Same as current OL- Same as current + 3/4 Rd Pick at OG for competition Defense: DEs: Wilk + Coples DT: DeVito/Pouha OLBs: 1st Rd Pick + FA stopgap MLBs: Harris + Davis CBs: Cro + Wilson (Revis?) S: Bell + FA + 3/4 Rd Pick for competition
Not a bad list. Only thing I'd say is if you either need to put Revis in the lineup or take him out. If you take him out that assumes we got something solid in return which would fill some portion of the lineup whether it be a draft pick or actual player.
Well I figured that I'd put together a roster based on not having Revis and not using resources acquired from trading him. I will say that I don't think that both Revis and Cro are necessary. If we have the $ to keep them and decide that's the best move, that's fine. If not, we could say re-sign Landry and then maybe look at a second safety or another corner with the pick we receive.
I agree with what you are saying 100% but not having Revis will drastically change one position is all I'm suggesting. Let's assume they trade Revis for only a 1st where would you put that player?
Here is my list somewhat realistic i feel, i left out the rg and lg spots ,named mostly starters at certain spots QB:Alex Smith, Backup Sanchez HBowell,Eddie Lacey,Mcknight................ Bradshaw if we dont draft lacy WR:Holmes,Greg Jennigs,Cribbs,Kerley,Hill TEustin Keller.............................Delanie Walker??if keller leaves C:Nick Mangold RG:?not sure LG:?not sure yet LT-Brick RT:Howard MLB:Harris,Davis LOLB: B-Mingo ROLB:Connor Barwin DT:Kendrick Ellis,Pouha RE:Coples LE:Wilkerson CB:Revis,Cromartie,Wilson,Trufant FS:Landry? SS:Bell???or someone new in the draft(have to look at mock drafts more)
Offense: QB- EJ Manuel RBs-Bradshaw+Giovani Bernard FB- Free agent WRs- Hill-Edwards-Kerley-Holmes-Draft TEs- Keller/draft OL- Brick-Slauson-Mangold-Warmack-A REAL RT Defense: DEs: Wilk + Coples DT: DeVito/Ellis OLBs: Draft+Free Agent MLBs: Harris + Davis CBs: Revis+Cro+Wilson S: Laron Landry-Antonio Allen, Josh Bush
Offense: QB - Sanchez,Mcelroy,stop gap HB - Gio Bernard,Bilal Powell,Joe Mcknight (If Gio is not there J.Franklin) FB - Hillard,stop gap WR - Holmes,Bray,Kerley,Hill,Draft pick TE - Walker,Cumberland OL - D'Brick,Mangold,slauson,Kyle long Defense: D-line - Wilkerson,Couples,Ellis MLB- Harris,Davis OLB - Jarvis Jones,Stop gap CB - Revis?,Cro,Wilson FS - Stop gap,Antonio Allen SS - Yerimah Bell,Draft pick
QB- Mike Glennon (2nd) vs rest of QB's RB- Gio Bernard (late 1st), Powell, Ivory WR- Holmes, Quinton Patton(3rd), Kerley, Hill TE- James Casey, Gavin Escobar (4th) LT- Brick LG- Warmack (1st) C- Mangold RG- Vlad RT Howard DE- Coples, Mo DT- Ellis OLB- Brandon Jenkins (3rd) + FA (would love Kruger, but Victor Butler is more realistic)/McIntyre + Cornelious Washington (5th) ILB- Harris, Davis CB- Cro, Wilson FS- Landry SS- Bell Main assumption- trade Revis for a 1st and 3rd. Also, I would love to trade back and get even more picks- then Dion Jordan, Ansah and Jonathan Cooper come into play.
How are we supposed to pay for Greg Jennings, keep Keller and get Smith (along with keeping Revis and possibly Landry)? I wouldn't call that realistic, unfortunately.
I certainly do not hate Braylon, but his best football is clearly behind him. The guy never got separation in his few games with the Jets. I am not seeing why so many of you want him back so bad. There will be better options out there via FA and the draft.
qb geno smith rb powell mcknight gillislie wr holmes hill kerley gates edwards te delanie walker lt ferguson lg slauson c mangold rg ducasse rt howard de wilk coples dt ellis pouha olb mcentyre olb 2nd round pick ilb harris davis cb cromartie revis s bell bush nothing crazy. smith falls to us and we grab him. after that i don't see a draft pick that beats ducasse. slauson comes back on a decent contract. no takers for revis pre draft so i didn't include any picks there walker is the splurge of the f.a. period i know i will get killed for geno smith but its a possibility
Qb- Alex smith, Sanchez, mcElroy Rb- Gio Bernard, Powell, McKnight FB- free agent Te- Cumberland, 2nd round pick Wr- Holmes, Kerley, Edwards, Hill Ol- d'brick, slauson, mangold, ducasse, Howard Dl- Wilkerson, Ellis, Coples Olb- Mingo, McIntyre, Sapp Ilb- Davis, Harris Cb- Cromartie, Wilson, Trufant, Matheiu S- Landry, Bell We trade Revis for Alex smith and a first and we draft Gio Bernard with the 31st pick. We draft Mingo with the 9th pick Draft a TE in the second And draft Matheiu in the third
are you kidding? alex smith ( sans harbaugh) and suckchise are practically identical twins. rather just go with mcelroy as the hold-the-fort guy while a draft pick sits and learns untill he is ready. get a guy to develop with a real nfl arm, like glennon or wilson. or a cheaper rg3 clone like e.j.manual.
I this has been discussed that this is not the year to draft a qb and ej manual is far from a rg3 clone lol.
this is not the year to draft a 1st round qb. after that, it depends on where he is on the team's board/grade. montana wasn't picked until the 3rd, so was russell wison. brady was a 6th. the packers routinely draft one on/after 3rd round.
QB - Colt McCoy or Jimmy Clausen / McElroy / Sean Renfree (6th) (Assumption Glennon doesn't make it to us in the 1st let alone 2nd) RB - Reggie Bush / Powell / Mcknight FB - Hilliard WR - Holmes / Percy Harvin (our 4th) / Hill / Kerley / Conner Vernon (5th Sanchez) TE - Dennis Pitta or Fred Davis / Cumberland OT - Howard / D'Brick / Draft Pick or FA depth OG - Warmack (1st) / Andy Levitre / Ducasse Center - Mangold / Braxton Cave (5th) DE - Wilk/Coples/Marcus Dixon NT - Ellis / Harrison OLB - Conner Barwin or Paul Kruger / Brandon Jenkins (2nd) / McIntyre ILB - Harris / Davis / Bellore (or depth FA/pick) (If Teo/Minter falls to 2nd round) CB - Cro / Wreh-Wilson (3rd Revis) / Wilson / Berry / Lankster S - Landry / Eric Reid (1st Revis) / Bush / Allen
Offense: QB- Mark Sanchez, RBs-Powell, Mcnight FB- Free agent WRs- Hill-Edwards-Kerley-Holmes- TEs- Zach Ertz (2nd round pick) OL- Brick-Slauson-Mangold-Ducasse-Howard Defense: DEs: Wilk + Coples DT: Ellis/Pouha OLBs: Dion Jordan or Jarvis Jones (1st round pick)+ Paul kruger MLBs: Harris + Davis CBs: Revis+Cro+Wilson+ Honeybadger S: Laron Landry-Bell This most likely would be in the CAP once we let go of Scott, Pace, Jason Smith, Eric Smith Re sign Revis, Landry, Bell Free agent signing Kruger __________________
