I don't know about you guys but I am ver excited. I feel like God will finally feel bad for Jets fans and stars will align. No injuries to Aaron or Offensive Key Players and we make the play offs and from there one can only dream. That said, how do you guys feel for upcoming season? You excited or tired of failure year after year?
I can’t pick any of those categories. You spend year after year circling cool toys in the Sears Wish Book only to sprint downstairs on December 25th to find - again - that Santa’s just an out of touch bone bag. . . welp. . . For me, I’d just like to be surprised.
I am in prove it mode. Until they prove otherwise, I expect another 7-win season give or take a game.
I’m in the ‘cautious” or “prove it” mode. We made a lot of good moves on paper this offseason, but come on, how many times have we sat here and said the same thing only to be disappointed yet again time after time. This playoff drought, the longest in all of the four major sports running, HAS to end. And we are setting up to do it, but in typical Jets fashion, there are plenty of risks. 3 new guys on OL…but AVT is coming off a major injury, will he be ready? Can Smith keep his missed games to a minimum this year? Will Rodgers come back strong after missing a year coming off a major injury at 40 years old? How long will it take the new OL to “gel”? How long will it take Mike Williams to come back to form after his own major injury? Will Rodgers be able to carry fucking Hackett again…because that dude has proven that he is NOTHING…Denver was NOT the facade…it was the shitshow that he is without Rodgers to carry his ass. Lots of questions, plenty of risks, so while on paper, if everyone comes back healthy and stays on the field, I think this could very well be a playoff team finally, I’m still cautious.
The one thing I really do like with this current Jets team is that if Rodgers gets hurt then Tyrod Taylor is capable of taking over and helping the Jets win games. They didn't have that last year with Wilson. Taylor is a nice upgrade over Wilson at backup QB.
Watch below video and tell me your blood doesn't boil what this team can do in 2024 if everybody stays healthy. https://x.com/NYJetsTFMedia/status/1778183016638259392
How can you not be excited at least for the start of the year? This isn’t 2017 where we’re going into the year with Josh McCown at the helm throwing to Jermaine Kearse and handing off to Bilal Powell. I’ll be less interested when they’re 1-3.
Because there are only 2 options that will occur from this upcoming season- one is the obvious disaster that always seems to find us and we have yet another Jets like season and miss the playoffs. The other is actually making the playoffs this year, which will result in contract extensions for Saleh and Douglas, two guys that would already be rightfully out of a job right now if they didn’t latch themselves to the 41 year old savior. Let’s not forget most everything Douglas and Saleh have done for the team has been downright awful.
Ashtyn Davis is back. He gets way too much hate here. We needed the safety depth, glad he's coming back. Sent from my genius mind.
