Who is the one player you would like the Jets to sign this offseason? If you were the GM, and could only sign one player, who would it be? For me it would be LeCharles Bentley. If Mawae really is gone then he can step right in and we wouldnt even look twice. Young, experienced, a top 5 center...need I say more? Thats one more draft pick we could save and use on another position. Other possibilites include David Givens, Tom Ashworth, LaVar Arrington (he'll be released, its inevitable), Grady Jackson, etc etc. So take your pick, who would you want and why?
If I can take any player? Probably Edge. Do you mean in the realm of possibility? I don't know, i don't think any of those are really realistic. I don't think we're going to get any first or even second tier FAs this year.
Bentley, no question. If we make one free agent signing in the next 5 years, it should be Lecharles Bentley.
Bentley no doubt. That'd be an excellent move, we'd go from a great center past his prime to one just starting to hit his stride. There would be no drop off at all...
Bentley here, too. It's not a glamorous signing, but I think we all agree that some young o-lline talent is exactly what we need.
It's funny, 8 years ago Mawae was the same thing. A guy who everyone knew was good, but was stuck in Seattle. He came here and shined for 8 years! That's what I would expect out of Bentley
