I got a bad feeling Macc will take this dude, Bad foot work, bad mechanics, every pass is 90 mile a hour fastball, no touch. Great runner though.
I will legit have a full-fledged mental breakdown if we take Josh Allen. Hopefully it is Rosen or Baker. I see Darnold going first.
I don't pretend to be a college QB evaluator but I am really not seeing how many on this board consider Baker Mayfield a near-sure NFL success and Josh Allen a highly likely NFL bust. If I was making the decision I'd take Josh Allen without a moments hesitation.... for a lot of reasons. I also have to admit I'm not sure it won't end up looking like maybe Chubb should have been selected with this pick. Maybe I'm thinking of the Disney version instead of reality but I'm not so sure Bridgewater can't be brought along at a relatively relaxed pace this season with McCown enjoying his farewell tour and then go on to be a fine long term solution at QB. Chubb meanwhile seems like he not only might be a transformative player but at a position the Jets are in absolute dire need of AND we've got a defensive minded coach. If Darnold and Rosen were gone by our 3rd pick I might have reservations about not going Chubb here and even if just Darnold is gone I still might think about it.
I’m going to trust Mac on this one. Reports have it he has had scouts at all the games of 6 qbs in this draft. Whoever he chooses he must feel pretty strongly about. So even if it’s mayfield I won’t scream and yell he took a bust from day 1. I think the process he took this year earned him that little bit of trust
I agree. If the Jets take Mayfield I'll be all aboard and rooting for him. But as a casual fan I just don't see that. I don't see the high level of the player, I don't see the player being someone you'd choose over the other guys available (especially at #3) and I don't see Mayfield being the "type" of guy this Jets team would not only go for but go all-in head over heels over. Maybe I'm completely wrong. But I'm not seeing any of that. At all. I could however picture Chubb being somebody they'd be extremely interested in. Your right though. Whoever they are after they are making a lot more of an informed and planned out decision than any of us can so I'm behind 'em whatever they do.
Why not? Did you see any edge rushers available in free agency? Would the Cowboys have won a Super Bowl without Charles Haley? Do the Bills make it to a Super Bowl without Bruce Smith? Does Brett Favre win a Super Bowl without Reggie White?
Barkley, Rosen or Darnold only. We have to get one of them. Don't reach for an Allen or Baker. It has to be one of the above 3.
I read that The Giant's GM. wants to desperately upgrade the OL because he feels Eli has a few more years left I hope he selects Nelson or he feels he can't pass on Barkley for obvious reasons. I really do think we have a good shot at getting Rosen or Darnold.
FJF I think Mac did his homework but I still don't trust him. In the end he picked Hack and Petty. Two guys that seems to be out the door. God help the Jets.
I'll wait until I see his pick, but he greatly redeemed himself with this trade up. EDIT: My pick: Rosen.
I'm pretty sure this guy is B-U-S-T material. His whole highlight film was him throwing up hail mary's. Not someone you want on an NFL roster. With professionall DB's and defensive coordinator (not ours) that would exploit his weaknesses. Plus he's not to swift in the brains department .
Why would you trade all those picks for a Chubb. You can have him at 6. That would be even more moronic of Macc. Who does that trading a gaggle of quality picks to move up 3 spots and take a Chubb. Macc should be pink slipped right on the spot because is a certified moron if he did this.
Only you are saying that...just you. Not one scout, NFL pundit, draft publication, ex football player, current football player. But hey let's see what happens. Hopefully it will some other team taking him not the Jets. I think he falls out of the top 10.
