First off, I'm as fed up with putting Fitz back in as you are. I wanted Fitz back this offseason on the condition that we gave him a cheap contract, so the worst that could happen was we'd be out some cap money. 12M isn't great, but we've wasted a lot more than that -- just look at Revis. The problem is I never thought the Jets would be thick enough not to move on if it didn't work. There is literally no sense in playing Fitz at this point: we aren't making the playoffs, he won't be back next year, and now we can't see what we have in Petty. So you want to protest the Jets? Change your avatar to a picture of a jet crash like I did. Shouldn't take more than a minute. But I'll bet most of the beat writers read this forum, and maybe Woody does too. If every member of our forum has a jet crash as their avatar, that'll get their attention.
You want to make a point? I said it in another thread. Woody has empty/section/phobia. Stay home! If you must go to the stadium, unload on Fitz for every missed pass and pick. Unload on Gailey for every 3 and out. Unload on Bowles for holding 3 TO's before halftime being down on the scoreboard. In short, everytime this team fucks up, let them hear it. If God Forbid they lose, boo the shit out of them and don't stop there. Get on all the sports radio programs and continue to vent. Do it until that Stupid F'n Owner of the New York Jets makes a statement other than "you can never have enough Tebow". Do not let them off the hook or we'll be watching this same movie in 2017. Most likely with Fitz resigned as our version of the GOAT.
You sound pretty mad Granpa C. Rightfully so. To be honest, if I knew being a Jets fan would make me so miserable, I would have stuck with soccer.
OR,,,,,,do like we did ,,, we brought in signs that stated our displeasure,,,,when they would not let us bring them in or took them away we wore bags on our heads! I sat in the Jet family section in the first row behind Johnny Mitchell and let them and everyone know that they sucked and we were embarrassed
I think boycotting the games/buying merchandise and booing the shit out of Fitz for the fans that go will be a lot more effective than an avatar wave, bub.
I live up here in the Albany area, sell your tickets to the New England fans up here on the cheap, save the money for parking and let the idiots know we are not stupid and we don't care about our best chance to win at 3-7. I swear the jerks think we are all stupid, remember Rex won two extra games and knocked us out of the Marietta sweepstakes, remember his post game press conference I'm here to win. Same thing with this idiot. Fill the place up with Brady fans wearing no. 12
I don't buy tickets or merch to begin with, so the avatar's all I got. And booing my TV's a nonstarter. But I'd love to see the forum decked out in crash scenes. Manish might even tweet something.
I seriously doubt that any sportswriters or members of the Jets organization read Jets fan sites. Anyone good with photoshop? I'd rather have a photo of Woody or Bowles with a dunce cap on his head.
It wouldn't do us any good, even if we win out (not gonna happen), we still probably miss the playoffs.
The good thing is, if we win out we won't get the opportunity to fck up a high round DP and as a bonus, cement our place in mediocrity. Yay!
Are you serious? They quote the fan sites all the time in the papers. You can read these articles online - you're from NC right?
Ah yes Blair Thomas U remember him or Johnny Lam Jones may not remember him or the other top DPs we had that did the floperoo after arriving at our TC? Concerning the present GM he should be shown the door for the Dak P non pick so why would U even have the slightest hope he can see talent in players?
Champ, I have abandoned all hope for this franchise for the near future. This FO can't or wont draft for need. This CS can't coach his way out of a paperbag trying too hard to be Parcells. This franchise can't develop talent. Its just a complete and total clusterfuck from any angle you want to view it. As long as this CS is in place, we're going nowhere.
I was serious, because to the best of my recollection, I've never seen any team official or sportswriter specifically quote a post or posts from a Jets fan site. That doesn't mean they haven't, however. Thinking about it more, I can see where some stupid, lazy sportswriters (like Mehta or Cimini) might do it to guide their own thinking or get ideas for articles or quotes, but the only team official I can see doing that is someone in marketing, not someone on the football side of operations. Yes, I'm from NC, and I do read articles linked off this site every day.
