No I disagree, the game as a whole was eh... ok. The fourth quarter? hell that would be right up at the top, personally I put it second, behind last years finish for me, as far as superbowls that I personally have witnessed.
That was one heck of a game! Surprised it took the Cards sooo long to get Fitz into the game....but hands down top 5 for me. The Mezz
Yeah it was a pretty ill game. Roethlisberger was clutch at the end. An Holmes was great, Sick catch for the win. Cant go without giving big props to Warner who was very good tonight and Fitzgerald is simply the best receiver in the NFL, He was shutdown must of the game but he brought the cards back in the 4th he was great.
Just goes to show you that we need a top notch QB, WR, and a Defense if we want to be serious. I'm not even talking Super Bowl, but just being serious if we want to win on a consistent basis.
It was exciting, but the football gods goofed. The steelers already have 5 rings. Spread the wealth & let the cards have a ring, already.
It took Cowher 15 years to win one Super Bowl with this bunch and it took Tomlin, not an amazing coach by any means, only 2. I think this goes to prove my earlier point that the Steelers have amazing management and always put a great team on the field, and if you're just an ordinary coach, you'll win a lot with them.
I actually thought it was a good / great SB with a lot of ebb ad flow and change of mometum. And it's good for the NFL to have a close game that doesn't come down to one team blowing out the other team due to a rash of turnovers. It just goes to show you that nobody knows what will happen in the NFL. The way the Cards were playing at the end of the year who would have thought that they would have made this run. Being an transplanted Arizonan (who will always root for the Jets) it was good to see the local team play well and give an entertaining game. I really didn't care who won when the game started, but in the end I was disappointed that the Cards couldn't pull it out. Not only that, but the game changing play at the end of the half lost cost me the 2nd quarter pool money.
This is such bullshit. You act like Cowher was a failure for 14 years before getting the ring. Go look at how successful he was prior to finally winning the game. It just so happened to coincide with him finally having a top notch QB.
I have stated this very thing before. They win, they lose players, and they get good players to replace those players. Just awesome management whose prority is winning, not selling PSLs.
The Steelers personnel guys are awesome. They always bring in good players and are great at evaluating talent. That is why Pittsburgh is a consistent winner.
There's no denying they have great management, but to completely write off what Cowher did as a coach is not fair at all IMO. edit: And yes, it was a great superbowl. You can't ask for much more than a game that comes down to the final 2 minutes. Both teams should be proud of what they did this season.
