LETS GO YANKEES! Tonight's game is telecast on MLB Network, if you have it. I like listening to Bob Costas.

If we can go 2-2, that would be good enough. Already conceding Sunday's game without a starter I see. :)

2-2 good enough? This team is capable of winning a series vs any opponent in the majors. We're tied for the best record in MLB and you're going to accept a split with a .500 club?

    Look at the pitching.
Petite vs Floyd is a wash.
    Mitre sucks.
Burnett vs Danks is a wash.
    TBA vs BUERHLE.

I believe the NYY lineup is good enough to overcome any pitching mismatches we have with the White Sox. Burnett vs Danks is not a wash; Burnett has been arguably the best pitcher in MLB over the last 1.5 months.

Ok, given, Burnett probly does have the advantage against Danks, but the other 3 matchups?

Pettite vs. Floyd is a wash, like you said, and in a wash I will put faith in the lineup to get it done. Is that not a fair expectation?

Mitre and Richard will probably both get shelled. Again, I believe in our bats. Reasonable, no?

I can definitely see Buehrle's start resulting in a ChiSox win.

I'm not saying NYY should blow Chicago away. I'm just saying I expect to win this series, like pretty much every series against .500 teams.

    My friend, valid points...valid points.

I'd say Yankees take it 3-1, but 2-2 is entirely possible.

And where do you see Sabathia, Donald? Ya it's his spot, but why is it TBA if his pitching a given?

It's always a pleasure to watch Skippity-douche-da stare at strike three right down the middle.

Molina sucks at the plate. I really would have rather kept Cervelli here.

No idea why I said "Fucking rain delay" in the NYY/Tampa thread but I digress... Fatass Molina in the lineup tonight, even more painful to watch than Skippity-dippity-do. I'll never understand moves like sending Cervelli down and keeping shitty ass Molina aboard, when the kid is exceding expectations at the plate and holding his own defensively as well. However, it is a crazy world we live in.

EDIT: Yes, Alio makes my long story short.

The answer is simple: Cervelli is young, and still developing. Same goes for Pena. The difference between the Molina and Cervelli (or Pena and Ransom) is not large enough to make a difference given the number of at bats you expect your backup catcher and utility infielder to get.

Better off getting them regular at bats in the minors for a year or two.

Right but don't you think the quality of pitching he'd face in the bigs would serve his development better than AAA? Maybe I just really hate Molina LOL

Not when he's getting at bats once or twice per week.

You're definitely correct. It just sucks to watch guys like Molina and Ransom fail, knowing you have options in the system who have shown themselves superior (even if you believe that difference to be small.)
