copy the templates from the other threads. Throw up some pitching match ups, game times, and logos/pictures man!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Going to the game tonight. If I even see Randy Winn take the field. I am booing. I seriously hate that guy. Honestly Greg Golson gives the the same exact thing in a player and at least he has upside, and swings like a normal human being. I am a fan of Juan Miranda though.
Pitching matchups Today: AJ Burnett vs Scott Baker Tomorrow: Andy Pettitte vs Francisco Liriano Sunday: TBA vs Nick Blackburn
Taken out of the game. Tightness in the bicep again. Going for "precautionary MRI." Second and third, no one out. They better not screw this up.
Now that's funny. Especially since they just mentioned how much Arod tattoos Guerre. Grand Wepa for A-Rod. 7-4 Yanks!!!
Arod just killed my fantasy week, from 8-2 to 5-4 in one swing of the bat. I don't care, it's great to see him tee off again
Well, even I didn't expect him to be this good (and I doubt he keeps this level of play up for the season, although I'd be thrilled if he did). I was just pretty damn confident that he could be an adequate major league player, and didn't understand the hate thrown his way. He has the skill set to be a decent player, but people were talking about him as though he was absolutely horrendous. That's what I didn't understand. Nice win, though. The Twins always find a way to lose at Yankee Stadium, it seems.
Kid isn't striking out. He's always making contact, hustling, scrapping... If I complained about HIM I'd be foolish. That said, Girardi come on with this Thames and Winn shit.
What the hell is he supposed to do, though? The Yanks have had two of the OFers go down. Neither Thames nor Winn was supposed to be seeing significant playing time... they're backups for a reason... but players get hurt, and now they have to start. Or fill in.
Yeah, unfortunately, for now at least, we're stuck with Thames and Winn. Winn I can bear, but Thames drives me to drink. (In good news, the bicep isn't bad. Swisher is day-to-day.) As for Gardner, I'm always willing to admit when I am wrong, and I was WAY off with Gardner. Granted, some of it was me being purposely ridiculous, but I never expected this level of performance from him. I did always feel, like Granderson, that the 2 spot would benefit Gardner though. He's going to get pitches to hit with Tex and ARod behind him. I hope Girardi leaves him in this spot for good. I wish he would make less boneheaded plays in the field though. Throw to the cutoff man Gardy. You cover 3/5 of the outfield with your legs, don't ruin that with your arm. Speaking of surprising performances, how about my boy Cervelli?! He's just playing awesome now. Something interesting to note, I was stuck listening to Sterling/Waldman last night, and they talked about how Cervelli didn't have much hitting success in the minors. The thing is, they converted him to a catcher from the infield. Now obviously that doesn't mean a guy should fall off his performance completely, but as they recounted what they were told, no one knows if Cervelli is a talented hitter or not. To paraphrase something Sterling says frequently now: maybe it's time we accept that Cervelli can hit! Personally, I really like him, so I'd love to see it. It would really help if we could put Jorge in at DH, have Cervelli regularly catch, and have someone else be a backup catcher. Is there anyone in the minors backing up Montero? I don't think it's time for Montero yet. Not with Cervelli performing. How about AJ last night? I was able to watch the first few innings on tv, and man was he getting squeezed. The zone was completely different for Baker, which was even more frustrating. Burnett beared down and pitched a pretty good game though. I'm not used to seeing AJ struggle and recover. It was very nice to see. Must have been Cervelli .
David Robertson is displaying severe symptoms of CM Wang Syndrome. Guy has forgotten how to get outs!
