We only trail 7 in the loss. Its too early to give up. One series at a time. I still believe

This thread was made too early. The Yankees still have a game to lose tomorrow first.

Detriot, Seattle, Minnesota, and Oakland are all playing above .500.

The most the Yankees have been over .500 was 3 over on June 14th.

That's a hell of a belief. I guess the Yankees will all the sudden go from playing sub .500 ball to ripping off a stretch that would shame the 1998 Yankees while simultaneously Detroit and Seattle pack it in and stop playing.

If we work from the premise that it'll take 90-95 games to compete for the wild card, the Yankees will have to play something like 20 games OVER .500 to even be in the running.

Can anybody point out a team that played sub .500 ball before the all-star break that after the all star break played 20 games OVER .500?

Seattle wont last, oakland, minny, detroit are who we have to jump. Detroits pen is pitching horribly. 7 in the loss isnt impossible to make up as you make it. Look at last years Twins who played out of their mind and made the post season.
Stick to Mets baseball my man, b/c if your team chokes this year in the National League like last year, then there is going to be a lot of shit said by me in the direction of certain Mets fans on this board.

Last years Twins had *one* month where they had a losing record, that was April. They were playing above .500 baseball every other month of the season. At their worst, they were only 8 games under .500. They played .547 the 1st half, and .645 the second half.

Not quite an example of a team that played sub .500 (or .500) baseball in the 1st half, then were 20 games over .500 for the second half.

OK, all im saying is that 7 back in the loss isnt an impossible feat. I still believe this team is not out of it.

We get over .500 before the break, Rally the Troops and make another push winning 15 of 19 with an 8 game streak in there.

    That's what it'll take...

ARod RBI groundout to give Clemens a 1-0 lead.

ARod collects #80 on the ribbys
