@KenDavidoff Ken Davidoff J.C. Romero's minor-league deal with the #Yankees should be completed on Thursday. #Yankees looking hard for LH relief options. The less Boone Logan, the better.
Logan hasn't been bad lately. He was starting to be a bit overused the last week before the AS break though. He should never be pitching 2 innings. This is one of those no-risk-high-potential-reward moves. It's a minor league deal and he'll have to earn his way north. Hopefully it'll work out better than Silva, Millwood, and Prior.
I'd feel better about this if I didn't think the Yankees had a weird obsession with Mitre now matter how shitty he pitches. Can't even hope that he gets released after another terrible outing.
I'd say I couldn't believe he was brought back, but as soon as Milwaukee released him I knew Girardi would bring him back. It's utterly ridiculous. At some point, somone has to pay for this decision. I'd rather it were Mitre himself, just dump him already and move on, but it won't be. I have no idea how he is still on the roster at this point. How about Nunez? This kid is an error machine. I really want him to be a good ballplayer. He was supposed to be much better than this. He's just painful to watch sometimes. Colon is saying he's being tentative with that hamstring. Dude, you have a bionic arm. You're playing on borrowed time. Do you really want to risk losing your job altogether (and likely not getting another shot amid the controversy of the procedure) or risk another hammy tweak? Come on. Maybe it's time to give Nova his job back. It's also time to stop wasting Noesi and send him down to stretch out as a starter.
Waldman just said Morrow has always been tough on the Yankees. Actually, he's 2-1 with a 5.19 ERA in his career vs. them (43.1 IP).
Hahahaha Girardi is such a faggot. http://espn.go.com/new-york/mlb/sto...ys-toronto-blue-jays-stealing-signs-illegally This faggot is so out of his league I almost feel bad for you guys.
http://yankees.lhblogs.com/2011/07/16/hughes-i-know-it-can-be-better/ Thank you Larry for fixing this horrible Eiland (and rumor has it Mussina) mistake. Hopefully he can regain that great hard curve he had.
Hughes at 80 pitches. 7-8-9 due up in the order. He really needs as many innings as he can get. 4 run lead to work with. Obviously you take him out.
Didn't agree with the move, but I understand it, at least, given his workload in the early innings. I'd have left him in for one more, but oh well.
Gardner comes through. 11 for his last 18. Not bad for a 4th outfielder, eh Alio, jonny? EDIT: And a nice, clean slide into the 2B to fuck up the double play ball. Tie game. Double EDIT: LOVE that it's Farnsworth-less on the mound for this. Jeter at the dish.
Very nice sequence for Gardner there. In terms of trade value, not that they'd be traded, I think he and Cano would be at the top of the list.
