Wait, I'm curious. Do we hate Joe Torre, or love him these days?

Jones got soaked, but she gets credit for taking it all in stride.

How about that hug between Jeter and ARod? Looked like ARod was trying to be cool with DJ, and Derek wasn't having it. ARod wrapped his arms around him, but Jeter stood sideways so it wouldn't be a full hug.

Then Jeter says to Jones that "everyone" contributed. You can almost tell he wanted to say "except Alex..." But always the diplomat, he just tells Jones that they have hugged before. Good job by Jones not to push the issue and make it uncomfortable for him.

Normally, i would want to rest up the starters; but i want to get homefield!!

Once we either clinch homefield, or a different team clinches is, i really hope that Torre rests up eveyone; ESPECIALLY THE BULLPEN (Proctor, Villone, Farnsworth especially)

I think that this time off for Rivera may end up being great for him, as long as he can bounce back to form by the time the playoffs role around.

I bet the Yanks didnt celebrate like they won the freaking world series like that other Ny team. Funny how at the all star break most of the so called experts didnt think the Yanks would make the playoffs.

This is why A-Rod is so psychotic about protecting his image. Anytime he has a genuine moment, it gets over-analyzed. I didn't see anything there that suggested Jeter was upset at Alex. If that was Giambi instead of A-Rod, and Jeter did the same exact thing, no one would mention a thing about it.

Not singling you out specifically Alio, but things like that are what contribute to A-Rod being so crazy protective of his image.

Abreu has been a total beast since coming here. He gets my vote for half-year MVP of the team. Of course Jeter is still my favorite for the league.

Proctor deserves an honorable mention also. 79 appearances. Wow.

See? That's the root of the problem. He is concerned with his image. Why? All he has to do is play the best he can, and the rest will just fall into place. He is way too talented to not be great if he would just concentrate on playing baseball, and not being Mr. Broadway.

I don't care about his personal feelings anymore. I used to. I spoke out against people who booed ARod, and people who said he wasn't that good. All he did was continue to prove those people right.

Look, if he performs next month, all is forgiven. It's simple. If he does what he gets paid to do, then he doesn't have to worry about boos and angry writing directed towards him.

You look at it as an attempted slam. In truth, it's just a fair question.

Seriously, the Arod bashing is getting out of hand, the guy cant do anything right. He sneezes and it gets analyzed.
