How is it that Yankee fans always compare the 26-2 World Championships vs the Mets? 19 of your 26 championships came before the Mets were even in existence. The Yankees played 49 years more than the Mets did, yet it doesn't stop you from making a dumb comparison. Your history is your history, but comparing it to a franchise that has only been around since 62, makes not sense. Explain.

Funny thing is I witnessed 6 of those WS...Yes i was only 2 for the 1st one. And I was only 3 for the 2nd.....But clearly remember losing in 81..After that...NOTHING....15 years of futility. The 80s were rough....I did root for the Mets in 86 WS. Why? Because I do not hate the Mets. Can any Met fan say that about the Yankees? So in my life...it is 6-1

Championships are celebrated far more than just 1 year,thats why teams put up banners etc. If it didn't mean anything teams wouldnt have flags and banners displaying their championship years. So the only fans that look at it your way are the fans with not so many flags and banners
Yankees fans only bring up the amount of championships when provoked. You never see any threads on here bragging about how great the Yankees history is. The only time you see that point brought up is when Mets fans that care more about the Yankees results than their own decide to troll in our threads.

Why do the met fans say 2 when most of them weren't alive for the 1st one? Any way you want to look at it the yankees have ALOT more Championships than the Mets. Look at it this way, from 1998 to 2000(a 3 year span) the yankees have more Championships than the Mets in their entire 45 year or so history. is there anything else you want to know?
I have a question for you. Are you at all disappointed the Davey Johnson teams in the mid/late 80s only won one WS? That team should have been a dynasty, yet they were really lucky to beat the Red Sox. Wasn't that really disappointing? If not, Explain.
because even if you were created the same time as the yankees it would still be 26-2. we have been in the world series alot more times than 26, and most of those times you would have faced us and lost.

I'll explain, yes it's extremely disapointing. It sucks we should have at least beaten the Dodgers in 88 and the way we fell to the Cards in 85 was disaspointing too. But you opened the can of worms and regardless of how many you've won since 19 whatever how disapointing is it that since George has attempted to buy championships he has none? Let's see A Rod, Giambalco, Matsui, Sheffield, Damon, Wright, Pavano, Abreu, Brown.... would you like me to continue? Give credit to Boston at least they won a championship even though they basically bought that too. To go back to what type was saying, nobody said they weren't important they signify who a team is and what their history is but in terms of 2007 they are irrelavent. You won't win a championship based on what happend 96-2000, you win with what you have on the field and on the bench.
