Good list as usual, I think Jordan Todman could go in the second round. Looking back, one guy who has actually impressed me this year is Terrance Toliver. He has had some pretty bad QB play but I think from a prospect perspective had a better year than Brandon Lafell a year before. I mean he isnt a burner but he is a big guy with deceptive athleticism and has a fairly reliable set of hands
I know he's raw as hell, but Aldon Smith should be higher IMO. Not top-15 like some people think, but in the 20-35 range.
Granted, Toliver had a great Cotton Bowl!! I don't know how you can say "Toliver impressed me this year"? You must have only seen the Florida game. Toliver had his only 100 yard game and only 2 TD s for the season in that game. Toliver played much better in 2009. Terrence Toliver had a down year. Less than 500 yards and only 2 TDs and he played in all of LSU's games. LSU was the lowest rated team in the SEC in passing in 2010, partly not Toliver's fault, but it is what it is. Round 3/4 is probably the best, they're a lot better WRs ahead of Toliver. Some team may base his stock on the Cotton Bowl which will help and he's a big receiver which the NFL loves. Toliver should have declared last year. This isn't a mock draft, so someone rated 100, like Todman, could go in Rd 2 depending on team needs. IMO, I don'r see Todman going in Rd 2 at this point, should be a solid rd 3 pick.
You have Travis Lewis twice in your rankings (at 19 and then again at 31), but other than that, as always very informative.
True, however LSU QB play was significantly worse this year than it was last year. Also Toliver had the benefit of Lafell who seemed to draw a lot of attention. Toliver was an outstandingly clutch receiver for LSU this year. Also outside of Stevan Ridley, no LSU offensive skill player really had a nice statistical year. I do agree their are much better receivers ahead of him. I also agree that Toliver is a 3-4 round prospect. I think what I didnt clarify in my first post was that their is more to Tolivers game than just being a tall WR
I'll back you up on this one Code. With CBS playing SEC games all the time I've been able to see a lot of LSU over the years (which is why I'm always so critical of their players). Toliver has made some big plays at times despite the horrific play of his quarterback, and deserves a lot of credit for the handful of times he was able to step up.
My POV, was to refute your claim...Toliver "impressed me this year"....he's been anything but impressive. I agree their QB play was worse. My comment "it is what it is" was refering to the passing game as a whole. It may not be Toliver's fault..but numbers don't lie.
Pretty sure I read somewhere that Janoris Jenkins is returning to UF next year. Also I can't see how Crick is higher than Kerrigan or Cam Jordan. Those 2 are pretty much first round locks with Kerrigan possibly top-15 and crick is a 2-3rd rounder at best right now. That may all change after the combine and interviews but I think Crick is too high in your ratings. Also no Lawrence Guy or Muhammed Wilkerson in your top 100?
I've heard reports staying and going. http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sour...fHhbxb&usg=AFQjCNHlIPgJMiKu3XWfHHF-DdQoSQdPDQ I'll have to wait a few days to the deadline to adjust.
Lawrence Guy is one of the most overrated players entering this draft. Look at his stats this year...Meh. Kerrigan isn't a lock top 15. Wilkerson is close to cracking the top 100, it's really difficult to rank 100 players. Remember this isn't a mock, it's just my opinion of the player's rankings, some will be drafted higher, some lower. Players moving up , pushed a bunch of guys down. Thanks for the comments Doogie...no one is right or wrong, just our opinions.
In your opinion, why do you think some see Aaron Williams as the 3rd CB off the board, over both Harris and Dowling? I personally agree with your order, but I've seen many having Williams coming off before Harris and Dowling?
Guy's numbers definitely weren't eye-popping, but he's incredibly versatile and he played his role in ASU's defense perfectly. He suffered a bad ankle injury early in the year after a dirty chop block - he played through that all year. It more than likely had an affect on his numbers, because if you look at his previous two season, he put up very good numbers. Dennis Erickson gives complete control to his defensive coordinator, Craig Bray. The Sun Devils are terrible against the pass and very, very good against the run. Bray started using a gimmicky nickel defense this season. Guy played inside, outside, and was consistently double teamed. His main objective was to keep blockers off of stud linebacker Vontaze Burfict and hybrid Junior Onyeali. In my opinion, Bray didn't use Guy the right way - he did his job, but he had potential to do so much more. He's a freakish athlete for a guy his size, which leads me to believe he'll put up great numbers at the combine. There's definitely better prospects at 34 DE, but Guy should be a solid player at the position. As of right now, he's a late-second rounder. The combine will make or break his draft spot.
atm I'm really hoping for Muh Wilkerson in rd 3... so good to know he's not in your top 100 On the other side... do you give that "rating" to Herzlich based on potential or actual contribution? Great work WW and thank's for keeping un informed on the draft. PS How much of a hit do yout hink Deunta Williams has taken because of his injury?
Herzlich before his bone cancer was the ACC defensive player of the year. If BH never was never striken with cancer, he probably would be a 1st rd selection. With any luck, he may be a late 2nd round pick. I feel terrible for Williams breaking his leg in his last game. Williams was a probable late Rd 1 selection before the injury. Now it's anyone's guess, maybe Round 3.
Not too sure. I still like Dowling better, even with his injury. I had Dowling rated above Harris before he got hurt. Some feel Dowling may be a better fit at Safety, which is possible. Williams' is a good player, just doesn't seem to be consistent in coverage compared to the others I have rated higher.
I think he still might be coasting off his previous season, but his play took a few steps back this year IMO. Dowling should be able to pull off CB, Cook has done ok there for the Vikings, and I believe Dowling was the better of the 2 @ Virginia...
