OG Very weak class...need more time to evaluate
UGA TE Orson Charles is a guy everyone should be keeping an eye on. He's an outstanding receiving ability at the position. Washington's Chris Polk and BC's Montel Harris are two running backs that I really like.
...and I agree that the guard class is very weak, but Iowa State's Kelechi Osemele is a hell of a prospect.
Keep an eye on Chandler Harnish, the guy is freaking tearing it up. I like his size and could be like a Big Ben rising from a smaller school.
You should know by now that every mid-major quarterback that rises through the ranks should be compared to the one and only David Carr. Football God. Seriously though, I enjoy watch MAC games. There's a lot of underrated talent in that conference. If Harnish keeps throwing four or five TDs a game and running well, scouts will take notice and his stock will soar.
Not many MAC players will make the NFL, but it's a great league to watch pure football. Five kids from our local High School now play for MAC teams. I'm lucky I live close to a lot of MAC teams and get to watch many regional games.
I'm keeping my eyes on Miami RB Lamar Miller, I think he's gonna blow up this year. He's finally healthy, has the backfield mostly to himself, and is arguably the top weapon on that offense. He's a redshirt Sophomore, so he could leave after a good year. With the shelf life of RBs and the possible impending punishment to the school, he should. I'd toss Alabama's Barrett Jones into the Top Guard conversation, although he's playing LT at this time(But that can change as early as this week). His intelligence and ability to play every position on the line will win GMs over...
I think Cordy Glenn out of Georgia has a chance to be a top guard prospect in next years draft, hes a monster and one hell of a run blocker and can also play LG with experience in playing LT. He did nicely against Boise State.
Lennon Creer goes to Tech, not state This years first round group of offensive skill positions is crazy good
This upcoming game should be telling, UGA is going up against USCe, who has a monster DL. I agree though, he's close to, if not at the top, of the list...
So Kellen Moore is doing it again tonight against Toledo, 140 yards and 2 TD's in the first quarter, granted that second TD is all Doug Martin. The kid just wins games, whats his record right now 39-2? He is 859/1253 for a career completion percentage of 68.55% 11,128 yards and a whopping 102 to 20 TD/INT ratio. With 10 of those int's coming as a freshman. Even so, thats a 5 to 1 TD/INT ratio. Those stats don't include tonights game, but damn thats impressive numbers. I fully expect Moore to break Mccoy's record for career wins as a QB at the NCAA level later this year. I don't know much about projecting QB's at the next level, which is why i'm asking the guys that actually do. Where is he projected to go, right now? I don't know where he would go, but I would have to believe the kid can make it work. If Chad Pennington could with his lack of arm, I believe Moore can as well. The kid is smart, and insanely accurate (71.3% completon percentage as a junior) I believe he has a real shot. I can't get enough of watching this guy play ball for Boise, here's to hoping Boise can make another run towards a title so he can get the recognition he deserves.
I agree with MG that his height is going to be a major problem, most Qbs who win alot of games tend to be drafted. He clearly has the intangibles and the stats to warrant a draft pick. I think most teams would love to have him as a backup in rounds 5 or latter, but probably not as a franchise QB
How does Brandon Weeden rank? I know he is like 30 but you think some team will take a chance on him in the draft or as an UDFA?
I'd say he gets drafted somewhere around the low 4th to high 6th. He is a good QB no doubt about that but he clearly will be a lifetime backup.
I understand Kellen Moore's limitations when he enters the NFL. Moore is just a winner, and is one of the smartest QBs in College Football. A studnt of the game and his Father is a football coach.
