Maybe it is SF defense. Yeah. Probably that's it. But - it looked like Jets had a future QB and future RB all in the squad, waiting all these time. I'd take this win - especially when it's a come-from-behind win that nullifies 14-point deficit from 1st quarter.
Eh, way too early to say anything definitive about Petty other than he has a nice arm. Long way to go. Powell is obviously legit, though. Them not giving him more touches earlier in the season (you know, when the games counted) is one of their very worst sins.
49ers came in 1-11 and they leave 1-12....the better team won today....but only in the most subjective of terms.
Petty comes in on a short week, lots of missing players, yet he still got better as the game progressed (even if we lost, that's would still be good sign), then not only all that, but made a clutch throw in overtime to get the team in range, not only that, but made a touchdown run and showed some toughness to inspire the team...what on earth more do you want from a replacement qb who was hardly given a chance to learn in the first place? Not only that, but SF has a decent pass defense, ranked 14th before the game (Jets were 24th...that's another story). I can't get too excited about Powell though...SF was ranked dead last in rushing yards allowed before the game. Ron
Well when there's no QB worth tanking for in the upcoming draft.. I'm fine with Petty getting a W against a team he should be beat.
Powell needs to be the starting RB going forward and next year. I respect the hell out of Forte but today showed it was obvious Powell's the better RB at this point.
I don't want to see any more rumors about Kaepernick coming to the Jets next year. I would be more than happy to just go with Petty.

That game was a complete shit fest, 49ers dominated the first half, and rolled over in the second, these last 3 games are going to be ugly, future QB? come on Jesus

Perhaps but lets not pretend these are rosey times.. We have alot of pieces we need to fix. Qb? Coach? You said oline? Aging wrs and rbs. Our secondary is a disaster. Its a long hall man.
O-line and secondary are the priority going into next season. Aging WRs? Enuwa (24), J Marshall (21), Anderson (23), Peake (24). That's a VERY promising corps. RB? Get a young one to mix it up with Powell and we're good. Our front 7 with a decent coach will produce. There's no QB worth wasting cash on next season so we might as well roll with Petty.
