Its funny that people actually beleive cowher would come to this team. Or that woody would be smart enough to hire him.

We shoulda let the tuna shop for his own groceries when we had the chance.

i don't blame this collapse on mangini, but more on the players to be totally honest. gholsten? what a joke. think of the difference mayo is making in NE. Brett? we got what we paid for. ty law? we got what we paid for.

acutally, seeing how much better we did this year with a real nose tackle and a running game, i will give mangini and tanny one more seaon to find a few more pieces.

    1- safety
    2- linebacker(s) with speed
    3- dangerous reciever (with hands)
4- qb (which means faver retires, clemens or ratty takes over and play really really really well)

Hell no. Especially no matter how slight our chances are we still have a shot at the playoffs.

I don't want the Jets to lose for any reason.

On a sidenote: I just caught the beginning of Espn Monday Night countdown...and Chris Mortensen feels that because Mangini's job is safe...because he's had 2 winning seasons out of 3. So if Mangini is gonna lose his job...next week's game will probably play a role.

I still want the Jets to win personally.

So what's it gonna be, the steak or the cheese burger?

Real fans never root for there team to lose. Especially when they still have a fucking chance at making the playoffs. These threads will never cease to amaze me. Fuck.

I'm not sure I understand the relevance of your original question. I simply posed a scenario, to see what people were thinking. So far there are votes for both, so I don't think its too outlandish to be inquisitive...

    Calm your ass down.

I said no, because I think Mangini should be fired with a win.

Only way Mangini gets to keep his job is if the fates smile down on him from above, help Buffalo to upset New England, the Jets beat Miami and win the division, and the Jets go on to win the Super Bowl, and we all live happily ever after with the Mangenious as our coach.

    Otherwise, he should fuck off.

Did you every think Mayo is playing well because he is well coached and put in a position to make plays?

Hell, Look at the Eagles defense, one of the best in the league, but I bet you couldn't name more than a few players on that defense.

I think their only pro bowlers are Asante Samuel and Brian Dawkins, they only got in because of name recognition.

    Good coaching > good players.

How about I fart on a fart and you eat that?

No I won't calm down. I'm still furious at what has happened to this 8-3 team that appeared to be a serious contender. Seeing "fans" that want to lose a game that could potentially clinch a playoff berth just pisses me off more. I have anger management issues.

I'm sure all of us share in your pain. I've been suffering with this team for 20+ years...and I broke the cardinal rule...I believed in the Jets. Then in typical Jet fashion, they stab you in the heart while they teabag your girl.

If you're furious about what has happened to this 8-3 team you should be furious with Mangini and his coaching staff. Our game planning has been downright afwul. Every week we hear the same thing: "I was really pleased with how hard the guys have worked this week in practice. We prepared hard both physically and mentally. I thought the players played hard, we just didn't execute."

Well if they are practicing hard, playing hard, and preparing well then maybe it's the schemes and the game planes that are the problem and not the players. Look, the players get a lot of the blame too. They have got to play better. But when I watch the Giants and the Eagles on defense they really get after it and make the whole offensive out of synch and get big stops and create critical turnovers. The Jets never do that. We rush 3 time and time again because out coach is scared to lose. He plays conservative dropping 8 into coverage and you know what, NFL QB's will pick you apart that way with all day to throw.

The defense needs to completely change philosophies. Attack, attack, attack. Obviously you don't blitz on every play but you have to make things more difficult for the offenses. Not only that, but Mangini has shows absolutely no ability to make ANY in game adjustments. Other teams walk in at halftime and fix mistakes from the first half. We routinely come back in the second half doing the same old stuff that got us down in the first half to begin with.

I never, ever root for the Jets to lose. I will be rooting hard for them to win on sunday because we sill technically have a chance at the playoffs even though we all know Belichek will not lost to Buffalo with the playoffs on the line and Baltimore is at home against a banged up Jags team with nothing to play for. However, if the Jets lose and that leads to Mangini, the gutless coach that he is, getting canned than I can't say it's really a bad thing for the organization going forward.

Though I agree that Cowher would have second and third thoughts about coming here, money always talks. That said, I would like to see him here, though I doubt he would because he would desire full control over the personnel and Tannenbaum would probably not agree to that.

Mangini is gone no matter what if we don't win in the playoffs, and we always want to win. It's not like we're 3-12 looking for a better draft pick, we can still make the playoffs. Of course you want to win! And it's the freaking dolphins.

That was the Patriots who wouldn't let him shop for groceries. We're the ones who gave him unlimited store credit and let him leave a big puddle of whiz in aisle six.
