Would you prefer Sharper or Taylor?

Given the current composition of our roster, and assuming we could sign both with our currently available UFA money, which player would you rather have?

Both are talented but aging. Both would fill a nice need on our defense. In my opinion, pass-rushing OLB is definitely a bigger hole than FS.

I understand that some people's answer will be colored by their opinion of Jason Taylor off the field. Preferably, I'm more curious to hear what people have to say without regard for that.

I think I'd take Taylor so that we fill just about the last remaining hole for 2010.

Of course the idea of the 2 of them would be lethal; JT pressuring the QB to make bad decisions with the opportunistic Sharper waiting to scoop up errant throws for a pick-6.....

Sharper is the smarter pickup easily.

He proved he could can still perform at an elite level last season. Where as Taylor im sure is still good, but DEFINITELY not elite.

Not to mention we already have a handful of serviceable reliable linebacker. Our two safeties battling it out either are unproven or are a severe medical risk.

There is no way Taylor can be the better pickup

Aside from the fact that he's a twat, I wouldn't have a problem with Rex bringing Taylor in for this defense.

Having said that, Sharper is easily the better option. Like Mack said in the other thread, Sharper is a component that would put this defense far over the top.

    Definitely Sharper.

Sharper would make that a lethal secondary.

Why are we even having this conversation??? Sharper is not going to be a Jet for $1.5 mil in 2010. Its pointless to compare this. We don't have the resources to get Sharper as of right now so why bother asking? He is obviously the better player.

Choices are, you can either have Taylor, or both, if Sharper isn't tendered by July 22nd.

    Looks like there's a consensus.

This draft is pretty deep at safety, so I thought that might sway the thinking, but I guess not.

    This.

Then you know for sure Tanny would trade up in the draft and grab Brandon Graham...

    Oh the possibilities...

it would be nice to remove JT from the dolphins defense assuming he stayed ther if didnt sign with us... he would make us strong/them weaker BUT sharper is definitly the easier more sensable option!

Taylor would provide a pass rush threat to help rex stop sending 5+ all the time.

that being said Sharper all the way. I think someone with the vision and knowledge of the game that Sharper has would be insane in Rex's defense.

hes always been one of my favorite defensive players for a while.

    Sharper is like the anti-Rhodes.

    enough said.

Both. No reason we can't bring both in.
