Jets get: Nnamdi Asomgha and Donovan McNabb Jets lose: Mark Sanchez, Pick #29 Eagles get: Pick #29 Eagles lose: Donovan McNabb Raiders get: Mark Sanchez Raiders lose: Nnamdi Asomugha I was listening to Sirius NFL radio on my lunch break today and heard a Pats fan call and say that he woke up in a cold sweat in the middle of the night thinking about this trade scenario since he said: (keep in mind these are his words not mine) “The Raiders want a replacement for Russell” “The Jets want Asomugha” “The Eagles want a top 42 pick for McNabb” He said as a Pats fan this would be a nightmare for him. I know this probably would never happen so don’t bother posting: “This would never happen” – I know “The Jets are committed to Sanchez” – I know “The Jets don’t need Asomugha now that they have Cromartie” – hopefully true? I just thought it would make for interesting conversation since it’s the offseason. My personal opinion is that this would be a bad move for the Jets long term since we’d be losing a 1st rd. pick and acquiring a older QB, but I think it would make the Jets the favorite to win the Superbowl this year.
That would be a God awful move for our future. Not a chance in hell I do that. Not to mention there's a slimmer than slim chance that a deal like that ever gets made in the NFL.
Revis, Asomugha, Cromartie, Lowery.. hmy: and Mcnabb the QB that all of New York hates? that'd be insane.
I know it would never happen but like I said I thought the points the caller made were interesting. And I agree it would be bad for us overall, but it's hard to argue that it wouldn't make us the overwhelming favorite to win the Superbowl next year.
This is the most retarded trade ever. Giving up a 23 year old QB a 1st round draft picks for a QB who the team doesnt even want, and an elite CB that has maybe 3 years left. This is nothing short of a Madden Fantasy trade, albeit more of a nightmare than a fantasy imo
Why would the Jets want to pick up a contract the size of Asomugha's to make Cromartie the #3 corner, and at the same time replace the franchise QB at the start of his career with someone else's franchise QB who has perhaps three years left at most?
This would be a great short term move, but a terrible long term move IMO. Our secondary would be disgusting, and McNabb would have probably the best compliment of weapons on offense he ever had. We would probably get a championship out of it.
Haha I knew this was coming since I know a lot of you take yourselves too seriously when it comes to football but I myself am not above discussing retarded nonsense like this. The 3 of you guys I quoted above probably struck up a convo with a co-worker about this as soon as you got done crapping on this thread.
Last night I woke up in a cold sweat after having a nightmare about people littering the Jets forum with trade scenarios from the mind of some idiot Pats fan.
Thats like saying i enjoy discussing if riding a one legged unicorn is better than a four legged one. They are both pointless and a waste of oxygen or in this case my time!! I am off to bed....
I think Mcnabb had more weapons with the eagles. Maclin and Jackson are monsters McCoy and Westbrook (when actually healthy) are pretty damn good backs who can catch the ball Plus they got much better WR depth than we do, and their TE had a pretty good season. Yeah hell have an exponentially better Oline, but thats it.
