Basically, it's a huge money league, 14 teams, Roto 5X5. This league is a little weird, b/c you start 5 OF's, a Middle Infielder, a corner IF and a utility guy along with the standard spots, so it's very deep.

    I get:
    Billy Butler
    Clayton Kershaw
    Geovany Soto

    I give:
    Joe Mauer
    Garrett Atkins

I declined it b/c why would I give away the best catcher in the league, by far for a average catcher, maybe, who had one good year and Butler who wouldnt even start for me.

Anyways, I told the guy why I wouldnt do it. He writes me this note about how I'm clueless for declining and how I should learn the game, seeming very bitter I declined. Is he an idiot?---Would anyone do this trade?

I would definitely decline that trade under your circumstances. Mauer is too valuable as a great hitting catcher to give up.

He called you clueless for not taking the people he's trying to get rid of?
Hahaha, does he think he's doing you a favour? I think he was just trying to fool you into saying "OH WAIT, I'll do it!"

I'd need to know more about your team's needs before commenting on the trade. But regardless of whether I would do it, that guy seems like a bit of an asshole.

You should just ask him, if you're clueless for declining the trade, since it obviously would have been awesome for you (in his opinion), what does that make him for offering it in the first place?

Honestly, I figured he was trying to "scare" me into the making the trade. You know, some people are pretty easy push overs and I've seen it before in fantasy leagues where you can easily convince people to accept a deal. I just figure he was seeing b/c I dont even know him.

In that case, you should thank him for being so concerned about the performance of your team, tell him you've reconsidered, and say you'll accept the trade if he offers it again...

    ...then reject it again.

haha that would have been PRICELESS. Too bad I already wrote him back a note telling him why NO ONE would do the trade.

Actually, fuck it....I just sent him an e-mail saying if he sent it back to me I'll probably accept it.

I don't even do fantasy baseball and there's no way I'd make that trade.
