Let me get this straight so I can make the point.

QB - Mark Sanchez (1st round pick)
RB - Shonn Greene (3rd round pick)
RB - Bilal Powell (5th round pick)
WR - Jeremy Kerley (5th round pick)
WR - Chaz Schilens (7th round pick)
    TE - Jeff Cumberland (UDFA)
    LT - D'Brickashaw Ferguson (1st round pick)
LG - Matt Slauson (6th round pick)
    C - Nick Mangold (1st round pick)
    RG - Brandon Moore (UDFA)
    RT - Austin Howard (UDFA)

That's what the Jets are going to put on the field Monday night?

That's 4 players out of 11 taken before the 5th round.

    WTF is going on here?

I agree with you its a horrible offense but draft status means jack. Moore has been in the probowl but since he was an UDFA he's not good?

I don't even think it's a matter of what round they were drafted in. It's more the fact that two of the Jets key offensive personell are and might not play (Holmes and Keller). Another problem is the fact that Greene is the lead back in the offense and the fact that Schilens and Kerley are the two starting receivers. Now that, is a problem.

Thirty-five years? That's probably a slight exaggeration. Show me the ten lowest scoring teams since the merger and I'm sure at least one of them got trapped on MNF.

Well here are the ten lowest scoring teams ever (per game)...now how to find out if they played on MNF?

    1 1977 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 2-12-0 7.4 15.9 0.143
    2 1974 Atlanta Falcons 3-11-0 7.9 19.4 0.214
    3 1992 Seattle Seahawks 2-14-0 8.8 19.5 0.125
    4 1976 Tampa Bay Buccaneers 0-14-0 8.9 29.4 0.000
    4 1991 Indianapolis Colts 1-15-0 8.9 23.8 0.062
    6 1977 Green Bay Packers 4-10-0 9.6 15.6 0.286
    7 1998 Philadelphia Eagles 3-13-0 10.1 21.5 0.188
    7 2000 Cleveland Browns 3-13-0 10.1 26.2 0.188
    9 1972 Philadelphia Eagles 2-11-1 10.4 25.1 0.179
    10 2006 Oakland Raiders 2-14-0 10.5 20.8 0.125

    Tone time?

    Nope. Tebow time.

No orthodox QB could be successful under center with this lineup, except for maybe the crazy kid from Florida.

    Let the fiasco commence!

Our awful 2005 team played the last ever MNF game on ABC in Week 16 at home vs New England. Starting QB was Brooks Bollinger as we stumbled towards an off-season overhaul. As we walked past the racetrack to the car Vinny came in late and set a record for most years in a row with a TD pass, I think 20 years. Not sure of the stats but that team was pretty bad. They played earlier that year on MNF at Atlanta and got smoked but they were worse by the New England game.

We're averaging 24 points per game at home, I don't understand this thread?

They had Randy Moss. Even the Oakland/disinterested version Moss is twice as good as any offensive player we have. Hell Justin Fargas was a decent workmanlike back at one point, he just got stuck with bad teams around him especially JaFatty, who makes Sanchez look like Elway.

Come to think of it, any offense with JaFatty is probably worse than this current Jet offense by default.

Finally I get to watch a whole Jets game live on TV and we have to go up against the Texans. They could be in the Superbowl this year - I don't know if any team can beat them, but to have a fighting chance we need Sanchez. The injuries and constant state of flux on the Jets are disorienting . We've got to maintain some kind of continuity on the offense, and Sanchez is the glue that can pull everyone together. He's worked with these guys and knows their strengths and weaknesses. I don't think a 2-2 record warrants benching the most experienced QB on the team.

The thread is that this is the worst Jets offensive personnel to start a game on MNF since 1975. I think that's an accurate assessment at this point.

For comparisons sake, here's the texans by round drafted.

QB - Matt Schaub (3rd round pick)
    RB - Arian Foster (UDFA)
RB - Justin Forsett (7th round pick)
WR - Andre Johnson (1st round pick)
WR - Kevin Walter (7th round pick)
TE - Owen Daniels (4th round pick)
LT - Duane Brown (1st round pick)
LG - Wade Smith (3rd round pick)
    C - Chris Myers (6th round pick)
RG - Antoine Caldwell (3rd round pick)
RT - Derek Newton (7th round pick)

6 out of 11 taken before the 5th round

Obviously they have a much better offense than ours. We have more first round picks in our offense but we also have more UDFA's. If both teams were 100% we'd have 2 more first round picks (Holmes, Keller) and 1 more 2nd round pick (Hill). The Texans would have another 2nd round pick (Tate). That would have put both teams at 7 out of 11 taken before the 5th round with the Jets having 5 first rounders compared to the Texans 2.

The problem seems to be that the Texans have found much better talent, not that they have invested more in there offense. That and we've been bit by the injury bug hard this season.

Who did we have in the 2005 game side from Vinny's late cameo? This was the off the couch, 40 something Vinny after Chad and Fiedler got hurt. Curtis was done, don't remember who the RBs were, the O line was decimated, I don't think Mawae played. We drafted Brick and Mangold the next spring. I think Doug Jolley was the TE, Chrebet's career ended a month earlier, not sure who the WRs were or if Santana Moss played.

The only good players we had by then were John Abraham playing for a contract on his way out the door and Ty Law also on his way out.

The OP doesn't specify he meant 'just the Jets'. If we only are talking about Jet teams, that's another story.
