Thus far, I'm not. Yes, it's his third season, and yes, he needs to improve, and I have faith he will. But let's not go nuts with the third season being some magical benchmark on a QB's career. Rodgers sat his first 3 years. Here are some stats of QB's first 2 games during this mystical "third year" Comp Att Pct Yds Avg TD Int Ryan 27 44 61.4 252 5.7 0 1 (1-1) 21 32 65.6 225 7.0 3 0 Flacco 20 38 52.6 248 6.5 0 1 (1-1) 17 39 43.6 154 3.9 1 4 Sanchez 26 44 59.1 335 7.6 2 1 (2-0) 17 24 70.8 182 7.6 2 2 Most important stat here, Sanchez: 2-0
I think he already has improved. He played great yesterday and just made some really bad decisions on those picks. Other then those 2 passes he did a great job. If he threw those away we would be singing a much different song about Mark today.
Not sure I would say great. He played a lot better vs Cowboys. I'm just tired of the media making such a big deal of his third season, like if you suck year 3, its over, which is total BS. All I want is a comp pct of 60% or more. so far so good.
I don't care about #s, I care about him winning. All the talk was about his comp % going up, he's well above 60% now does thia make him better than last year? He was better last year despite the #s but by the end of the year I have little doubt he will be much better than a year ago. I am confident in our QB, not so much in the OL especially w/ Mangold.
I think MS continues to show improvement. Where he has had a problem in the past is in seeming to have gotten past problems in certain areas, and then reverting to them again. But... I don't think that kind of thing is all that surprising. The main point is in general he continues to improve. A few times yesterday he was able to rifle some shots in there with real speed and authority. The trends are upward.
Sanchez is doing fine so far. Yeah he's thrown three picks and two of them were on bad passes. He's been under a lot of pressure, with a weak showing in pass protection by the offensive line so far, and the running game hasn't gotten going yet. With Chad Pennington or Kellen Clemens back there we'd be 1-1 right now. Instead we have an athletic QB that can move around, put some mustard on the ball in tight spaces and take a hit when protection breaks down, so we're 2-0. Count your blessings.
I am at work and can not get too detailed. I will say for as atrocious as the Oline has looked Sanchez has done well. I just wish he can stop with these brain farts and recognize coverages. It seems he is still getting baited rather easy.
He still hasn't learned that there are some plays that are dead even if he hasn't been sacked yet. That zone 15-30 yards up the left seam is a killer for him late in the play when he should be throwing the ball out of bounds and is still forcing it into an area with three defenders in range. When the Jets run one receiver in that area he has a shot, but when Schotty has somebody underneath at 15 yards and somebody up the seam at 25 it is a disaster waiting to happen. Both of the receivers have their primary defender and then the free safety is headed into the area also because he sees two receivers there and the clock in his head is going 1 thousand, 2 thousand, 3 thousand, 4 thousand, pick!
I am. When he has time to sit and throw, he continues to stare down the receiver hes going to throw to for 4 seconds and even if they are covered well mad: ), he still forces the throw instead of looking elsewhere or throwing it away. That I dont like.
Hello, my name is Chris Hanson. I'm from the TV show "To Catch a Predator". (Not really but I thought this was funny) I would like you all to know that the website, ThePhins is owned by a child rapist. Celtkin, AKA Malcolm Bond Burbank D.O.B. 5/5/1957, is a convicted two time child rapist. Once in 1995 and once in 1997. My proof? Well, if you would kindly visit the site and see this thread: Now, if you'll notice in that thread you will see where "Celtkin", AKA Malcolm Burbank, says that his birthday is Cinco de Mayo, or May 5th. Also in this thread you will notice people call him Mal and Malcolm. Now, please look at this: You will see where a Malcolm Burbank has friended ThePhins facebook page and identified himself as "Celtkin". Now, please go here: and and The last link once had a picture of "Celtkin", which matched the picture in both of the sexual registry sites, but he has since removed it due to this info being slowly spread around. But notice that the photobucket profile is claimed by one "Celtkin" and under the now deleated picture it has "Malcolm Burbank"? Also, the "Celtkin" from thephins has just got his PhD. Well, he lives in Idaho. And notice some of the pictures from "Celtkins" photobucket page match the pictures from this website..and there is his face. He thought he was smart when he took down the photbucket picture of his face...but child rapists just aren't smart. EDIT: Because I can't post links I had to remove them. However, just google search for Celtkin ThePhins Malcolm Burbank And then read the happy Birthday thread to Celktin over at thephins. GO JETS!!
Yeah, he's been taking some nasty hits. If Mangold is out a few weeks, I don't trust this OLine to keep him healthy.
He doesn't do that like he did in his first year. Its still happens but not as often as in the past. He's doing really well. Who can be worried about him after these two games with a WR corps that has two new receivers and he is still clearly getting used to throwing to them. This team is going to look great after the bye week.
I think Sanchez is just gonna be that QB that people will always try to pick apart with flaws. He's finally completing the majority of his passes (63% so far), and now people want to look at his interception total through 2 games. His QB rating for the season is a very respectable 88 through 2 games compared to 65 and 73 in years 1 and 2. He's progressing and thats all I care about. People will cherry pick the interceptions, and I'll point to the money throw he had to Holmes for the TD, or that he scrambled for a couple first downs. I'm not Sanchez biggest supporter in the regular season, going off his last couple seasons, but he's played well so far despite an o-line that isn't blocking for shit.
I agree, it seems the intermediate routes are where he really messes up. He is either still eyeballing/staring down his target or he is still getting baited. I think he had time to make the throws, so protection wasn't the problem on his picks. On the 2nd one he had Mason wide open on the sideline and just missed him.
People in Idaho can't get PHDs, which makes them child rapists? You are so far off base here. Sanchez was accused of being a child rapist, but he never claimed to hold a PHD and has never even been to Idaho. Signed Dr. Free Candy
I hope so more so before the BYE. I want to the JETS to light up the Pats D with Keller, Holmes, Burress, and even Cromartie
