everybody and there unborn son knows the jets have no talent at cb and wr..and have so much money under the cap.. do you guys think woody would hold the jets record against rex or give him a pass for the mis handled roster..i love rex, i think he is a good coach, my only knock on him is his inability to groom and work with a QB.
Or Idzik. Let's say we keep Idzik and let him hire a new coach and draft a new QB. What if the season implodes? We then have a QB and HC that the GM who was fired brought in. Clean slate is the only way to go.
I think Woody told Idzik not to spend because Woody is still eating the lo$$e$ on the PSL's. He had to lose $50 MM on the PSLs.
Our future QB plays in Cleveland. I just don't know which one of them we will be getting. We have no idea how to draft and develop a good QB.
Do you mean receivership by the NFL? Dissolve the entire organization and have the league disperse the players then use a special draft to restock it while seeking new applicants for ownership? Where do you draw the line?
Woody is a horrible owner, he operates the team as a pure business and he doesn't have the passion or fire I want in a owner. Just for a laugh I googled and yahoo best/top NFL Owners and on any list the highest Woody ever showed was 20th. So it seems I'm not alone when I say were not even in the top half of the league for owners. Want a bigger laugh, google/yahoo best/top NFL GMs. If you want to be rolling on the floor, try it for best NFL HC. Don't bother doing it for QBs, Smith is tied for 30th by ESPN and worse on the others. Vick is no where to be found. There are backup QBs and rookie QBs which are rated higher. In the four most important areas of an NFL team in determining if you are good (Owner, GM, HC & QB) the Jets aren't in the top half on any and bringing up the rear in most. I hope this team goes 1-15 and Woody blows it up. Too bad we can't get a new owner, but at least he is the highest rated out of the four areas (20th).
I'm not sure our franchise QB has even been born yet.. That train has already left the station so don't hold your breath for a true housecleaning. That's not how Woody Johnson operates. He still loves Rex BUT, Woody also loves good press so those two ideals are on a collision course and it will be very interesting to see which wins.
Hahaha awesome.... That's funny, I saw something today about a school in Nevada that has the nation's longest winning streak at 74 games in a row. Their starting QB was 6 the last time the school lost a game...maybe he is our guy.....lol
Woody doesn't have a passion for the game the way many of his peers do. This is why it makes it so hard for him to get things right. He also knows very little about the product that he owns and sells. The people he put in charge of product development are awful and need to be fired. Either Rex goes, or Woody cleans house and gets rid of the entire FO, CS and Scouting dept. I'd prefer the latter but knowing Woody, he'll most likely go the former.
Unless we get Hoyer in FA we're not getting either one. Pettine sure as shooting ain't helping us out.
giants have PSLs and higher ticket prices. jets are 16th in average ticket prices. people who think woody is ALL about money are absurd. he's spent money in the past (those AFCCG teams) and wants to win (was willing to hire a firm to help find the new GM two years ago)
It's among the dumbest narratives out there. I've tried to use facts, but the truth is anyone who latches onto something this dumb is not going to accept anything that doesn't fit their beliefs. Every NFL owner is more than prepared to use 100% of the cap every year, it's the nature of modern football. No matter how small the market, the owners are stupid wealthy and make much much more than they dole out in salary each year. Not to mention the actual money that changes hands is never the same as what the salary cap reads each year.
