I missed it, but Carton just said Cowher was available and the Jets didn't want him. Please fill those of us who missed it in on what was said in the interview
I did not hear it but listening now it appears what occurred is that Woody never called Cowher from where ever in the world he was cause Tanny (they are speculating on this) had told Woody that there was no chance in securing Cowher
Here is Gary Myers take on it http://www.nydailynews.com/sports/f...woody_johnsons_gaffe_blew_jets_chances_t.html
For those who wanted Cowher, enjoy. Hate your owner. As a young Jet fan, this past year's dramatic, embarrassing unfolding story makes me laugh in the face of my favorite team.... Learn to care as much as the owner.... it makes it OK to leave at halftime.
I just heard the sound clip. Cowher said he was NEVER contacted by the NYJs & as he did not want the situation to "linger" he made the announcement saying he was not interested in the position
http://forums.theganggreen.com/showthread.php?t=41102 do not defend woody johnson. here's another way to put it.... who is more important? Cowher, who has a ring... or..... the owner of a franchise that hasn't sniffed one in 40 years?
Wow, that is a unique take on it. Yes, he is too big to wait on Woody. Don't you know that? Woody needs him, he could care less about Woody.
I am not, it just seems to me that Cower's head is a little big and if he wanted to listen to the Jets, he could of waited. It's all what he wants..
But none of this is news really. We all had heard that Cowher pulled out because Woody wouldn't make himself available for the interview.
Yes, Woody screwed up again, I know. It seems to me that they would be clashing from the start. Too much ego.
Coming back this year is not important to him. If the Jets wanted him they needed to reach out to him and they didn't. Personally, I think the Jets don't really want him because Woody doesn't want to pay. This made it all work to their favor.
