Forget blasphemy for a second. This shit fucking sucks because Revis deserved it more, plain and simple.
in that, the numbers revis had are overshadowed by hte numbers woodson had. is it right? no, but its the way things work, and we shouldn't be surprised about it. i mean, really, when have the Jets gotten respect anywho? why do we care? fact is, revis had a sick year. players and coaches know.
And now he can polish the trophy at home while Revis is playing for the Lombardi trophy. San Diego delenda est.
Sorry, I just was not paying enough attention! They must not have even considered the quality of competition or the defensive run by the teams. Our defense is tailored around Revis's one on one skills where Woodson plays mainly cover 2 or other zones. So woodson is just a piece of the puzzle while Revis makes the whole puzzle work. Revis got robbed by the AP!
These awards, like the Heisman, are voted on by people who probably don't watch any games outside of their own narrow scope. Without the flashy INT numbers, a shutdown guy like Revis isn't going to get the award. If I was Darrelle I wouldn't be too bummed, seeing as the people who do value that kind of production are the ones who cut the checks.
Honestly I have no problem with that, Woodson was ridiculously good this year, When he played man up he was excellent, adn more importantly he was everywhere on that defense, he was what made it work, he got Qb pressure, he forced turnovers he scored points. Revis was the best cover corner in the league, but I think Woodson might have been the best all-around defender this year
