Couldn't find a thread, sorry if this is a dupe.

Saw it this AM. What an utter disappointment.

Absolutely nothing new. Narration of Goodfellas, love story of Scarface, drug use of Blow and market playing like Boiler Room.

Should be called Boiler Room 2.

This is not an indictment on Di Caprio, he was great this is all on Scorsese.

You're the second person to say that about this movie. I'm going tomorrow night with the gf. Hope we have different opinions

It's very difficult to do movies where the character arc is: man comes from nothing - man gains everything - man loses everything - man rises from ashes

It's been done many many times and so if you attempt it, you have to nail it and you can't nail it using old tricks your audience has seen before.

    Just my opinion.

Prisoners was the best movie I've seen this year. Check that out if you haven't.

It was very good. As for best of the year? I thought 12 Years a Slave was the best I saw. Out of the Furnace and Captain Phillips were also very good.

I think Hanks will get the nod for best actor I don't think the movie as a whole was best.

Dallas Buyers Club was excellent too. No go on Gravity for me.

TDK - I haven't seen American Hustle but I would pay the ticket fee for that over Wolf

Dallas Buyers Club is awesome, Matthew Mcchonaughey is going to win best actor I personally think.

I will Wolf on Wall Street later today hopefully. I heard the movie is 3 hrs long.

Btw, American Hustle is like the new Goodfellas...I loved that movie

Just got back from the movie. I thought it was great - some very funny Scenes. I also didn't mind all the T&A. Missed a few minutes do to some lady collapsing and falling down the steps which sounded like a gun shot - half of the theater emptied right away. Pretty scary moment.

A little over the top but must say it was funnier than I'd thought it would be...

Believe it or not, there is alot of truth in that movie...

It was hilarious and completely insane. The audience loved it for the most part because the dialogue and scenes were so damn funny. The film is a hard Rated R though so don't take the little kids oe grandma

There were definitely funny moments and good scenes.

But this was the weakest Scorsese film, IMO.

I absolutely loved the first half of the movie, but I thought a lot of the scenes in the second half were dragged out and annoying (mainly the scene with the Lemon 714s and the Country Club). I thought Leonardo and Jonah Hill were amazing though.

Movie was pretty good although I did enjoy American Hustle better. WWS did pretty much hit it on the mark from the days of unlimited Cocaine availability in the late 80's, early 90's. Back then, 'caine was the drug of choice and just like it was in the movie, all the "ballers" had it in huge amounts along with the money and the broads that came with it.

Like the above post stated, I thought the 714 scene at the country club was a bit outlandish. Even wifey asked how is it that all this commotion could be happening without a concierge at the front desk or even a passersby. That's Hollywood I guess.

Good movie, but like I said, American Hustle was IMO, a better all round movie.

Dangerous looks! I had to reel myself in a few times because wifey was riding shotgun in the next seat.. :)
