I was at the grocery store today, picking up a few items. I walked past the magazine rack and saw one that had a mock draft in it. I wish I knew which one it was, it said that Stafford will drop all the way to us at 17. Is this at all realistic?
I do agree with that, they had Sanchez going to the 49ers and everyone else passed on him. I am not going to spend $10 on it, but, next time I go to the store, I'll find the name of the magazine "Vernon Gholston had a milk-carton season, getting no sacks and 4 tackles" - That is from the same magazine. It grades last years draft class and that is what was said.
sorry but no chance we get stafford at 17 it would be un realistic to think he could drop out of the top 5...dont forget the rams really arent all that stable at the qb position even if the lions were to pass on him...i just dont see any way it would be possible and to be honest i rather have Sanchez.
Aaron Rodgers fell farther than that, so it can happen. When the Chiefs got Cassel it increased the chances of a QB getting a Death Wait. If Detroit doesn't take a QB it would drop one of the big three pretty far down. And some rumors say that some teams like Freeman more than Staff-chez. So anything could happen.
Firemangini, i forget because it was so long ago {not that long, but 3 years), was aaron rodgers the number one rated qb coming out during his draft? I actually want to trade down and grab freeman in the early 20's more than taking stafford at number 17. Stafford was extremely inconsistent , and played mediocre at best in big games in the SEC.
The big three are starting to get closer in value, that could be because of the overanalysis that goes into the top guy (Stafford). I would highly bet that there is a different ranking for the top 3 all over the leauge. Three completely different players here so who knows who wants which guy. recent history suggests that it will go one of two ways. a) one guy goes top 5, one slides to early 20s, the third is picked in the second round b) one guy goes top 5, other guy goes top 10, the third goes to a team that trades up, so all may go top 15 I don't like any of the three, but would prefer Stafford who is the most balanced and prototypical passer
It was a 50/50 split, both with similar skill sets (I just do not know how SF picked a Tedford QB 1st overall) I liekd Rodgers better, he seemed the safer pick, Alex Smith was more of a boom bust guy.
AR was spoken of as a potential #1 during most of the draft season, than right at the end all the draft experts started talking him down.
