This draft should and will be loaded with potential. The top consists of only a hand full of immediate impact players though. The odds of us staying put and filling all of our holes in unlikely though.

I'm proposing we trade with Philly, who has 2 2nd rounders(their's and Zona's). They got 2 huge holes in my eyes LB and OL. If we send them our 1st for their 2nd's and 3rd they can get 2 immediate impact players either Luke Kuechly or Vontaze Burfict and Johnathan Martin or David Decastro.

I also wanna trade up into the 3rd again so our 4th and 5th for a late teams(say Detroit) 3rd and 6th
Now onto us our biggest holes in my eyes are OLB, S, RT, WR, ILB and potentially RB(with LT possibly leaving)

With us now having 6 picks in rounds 2 and 3 we can go and fill each hole with a potential packed guy, I see this as a RELOADING year, not a REBUILDING year.

45-Chris Polk RB- If we are gonna be ground and pound we need a dual threat, work horse at RB and Polk is all the above for us.

47-Vinny Curry OLB- Do I feek he will be ready to play every down next year, NO but he can be our Aldon Smith and get double digit sacks with Rex's coaching

48-Nigel Bradham LB- A lot of guys want Burfict in this draft and I do too but Badman Bradham is just as good but also has a better IQ and will not be a potential long term distraction. He plays OLB for FSU but I can see him becoming a Pro-Bowl ILB for us he's that good and will be a great value pick in round 2

79- Rueben Randle WR- You usually dont use the term "raw" when talking about a WR but I use it with him because he is crazy athletic but could use work on his route running but his speed and leaping ability make him a threat anytime he's on the field

80- Bacarri Rambo S- I love this kids game, true definition of a ball hawk, cover skills are lacking but like most guys we picked they need pro coaching. He is truly a "Rex Guy" he plays with confidence and swagger, 2 things Rex epitomizes

Late 3rd- Matt Reynolds OT- Wayne Hunter is pathetic and we need an impact guy. Reynolds will be over looked because this draft is O-Line heavy but if we grab him here he can start from Day 1 if works his arse off in Mini Camp and Training Camp

5th Pick(Lowery Trade)- Case Keenum QB- It seems early picking a QB but in my eyes we need to add another one to our system to develop behind Mark, I know we got McElroy but his arm is about as good as a pop warner QB. I know its a 5th rounder but he'll likely get picked around here due to his performance late in the year. Great value for us right here

6th-Cliff Harris CB- He's a knucklehead and some what of a loose cannon on the field, he'll slip solely due to his poor attitue but his talented and will be a great late pick up and can take over the dime roll in 2013 with a year in the system. He'll be the 5th Corner and you know Rex loves his corners so we need production there

6th-Nicolas Jean-Baptiste NT- This is purely a project pick, Most of us think Rex is trying to turn Kenrick Ellis into his Haloti Ngata so we need a future NT with Pouha getting up there in age. His measurements are 6'2 335 which is solid for a NT but if he can get to 355, a mix of mass and muscle, plus learn how to effectively play the position I think we're in for a great future front 3 in Wilkerson-Jean-Baptiste-Ellis

7th-Drew Butler P- The best Punter in the draft and a big thing I'm looking forward to next year is out punter setting out defense up with great field position

7th(Compensatory)- Blair Walsh K- The best kicker in the draft, Folk Folked up too many times. Its hard to find a good one so we might as well grab the #1 rated kicker in the draft.

    Off-Season moves

    Cuts/Walks
    Eric Smith/Wayne Hunter/Matt Mulligan/Ladanian Tomlinson/Mark Brunell/Bryan Thomas/Nick Bellore/Garrett McIntyre/Marquice Cole/Logan Payne/Scotty McKnight/Kevin O'Connell/Jarron Gilbert/Jim Leonard/TJ Conley/Nick Folk/Jim Leonard/Matt Kroul/Dennis Landolt/Plaxico Burress

    Restructure
    Mark Sanchez/Antonio Cromartie

    Re-Sign
    Sione Pouha/Aaron Maybin/Martin Tevaseu/Rob Turner/Donald Strickland

    Trades
Santonio Holmes- somewhere, anywhere, something, anything. He's too old to be acting the way he does. I'd try and pry a 2nd and 3rd but most likely we can get a 4th or a 5th.

    Sign
Chris Horton S- This guy is very under rated in my eyes and could be a great filler for us. He's physical tools are there if he can learn the system I could see him as our vocal/in box safety. His size also makes him ideal for covering Tight Ends

Reggie Nelson S- Solid vet pick up. I dont wanna start Rambo at this point and Nelson is a great ball hawk, he'll compliment Horton very good

Marcus Benard OLB- He's a great player and fell out of order in Cleveland due to their transition from 3-4 to 4-3. I can see him taking BT's role as our starter and rotating with Vinny Curry.

Ryan Diem OL- Solid guy. If Indy goes into full rebuilding I see him leaving and we could use the vet help. I think he can play RT for us

Steve Smith WR- I love this guy. He had an off year but will look to rebound. Similar to how Plaxico came here and played good in a place where was comfortable. Smith can do the same. He can be just as effective as Holmes for a 80% discount and no trouble at all

Braylon Edwards WR- We need a deep threat but also we gotta bring back a guy who's familiar with Sanchez. Edwards will come cheap and with Holmes gone he'll feel welcomed, I mean how weird would it be to be on the team with the guy they chose over you.

John Carlson TE- We need another legit TE option, Carlson had an off year but can rebound in our offense since the TE is very important to Mark. Keller and Carlson wont be Gronkowski/Hernandez but they'll be effective.

I like the idea i doubt Philly is that aggressive though. They like us are in a win now mode, but they do have fewer needs so its a possibility.

Great Mock Off-Season. This is the best I have seen so far from anyone on this board.

Excellent analysis. Only adjustment, keep holmes, get rid of sanchez for a 6th rounder. You can adjust attitudes, cant adjust lack of size, strength and talent.

    Lot of info here.

I like the idea of trading down, just not sure if it would happen.

I like OT Matt Reynolds a lot. I've been lobbying for this guy. Could step in and start right away. A definite upgrade over Hunter.

    But...

A RB with the first pick? Not gonna happen. The Jets have spent a 3rd, 4th, 4th, and 5th round picks in the past 3 years on RB.

Vinny Curry is not the answer for pass rusher. He played against weak competition in CUSA. He mostly got by on overpowering weaker OT.

Reuben Randel? eh. Not in love with his game. There could be better options at #79 -- McNutt maybe.

I also love Rambo. However, he hasn't declared yet and if he does, I think he's gone before #80.

    Completly disagree

    PLAYERS THAT NEED TO STAY
REX RYAN _ MARK SANCHEZ "don't overreact we went 8-8 not 0-16"
-Give mark the last year on his contract to play an "Alex Smith type role"

    PLAYERS THAT NEED TO GO
    B.Scott, S.Holmes, P.Burris,L.Tomilson

    PLAYERS WE NEED TO ACQUIRE
B.Edwards "he will be cheap and wanted to stay in NY, was a good weapon for us"

REALISTICALLY THIS WOULD BE MY IDEAL DRAFT

WE TRADE S.Greene to Cleveland (they hinted that Hillis will not return)
Just to swap draft position in 1st and 2nd round
-they get a needed position a good guy and don't lose any picks they will be able to address other needs

4th pick in the draft jets select Trent Richardson ground and pound
36th pick in the draft jets select Kelechi Osemele secure the ground and pound
pick 3 - Melvin McNutt (next to B.Edwards with Kurly in the slot, i thinks that's better then what we have this year)
Pick 4 - Lavonte Davis (There is no good safeties in this years draft however Davis plays man to man on TE and RB and did very well recorded 159 tackles this year alone that's over 10 a game 16 TFL totaling 65 yards Hes 22o runs a 4.5 and a real ball hawk and since he played both OLB and safety will be a great RUSHER.

OLB is a tough position to draft look at vernon why is he no good? grab a true OLB (if Lavonte is a better safety Then OLB) in FA.

cant take a rb with our first pick we drafted way too many past few years would rather grab a jeff demps type later in the draft. also dont want to spend another pick on a qb as we took mcelroy last year bring in a veteran sage rosenfels type. do like your walsh and butler picks though as i had them going to the jets in my mock.

I dont see how a mediocre runner in Greene gets us from 1-16 to 1-4 never mind a swap of 2nd round picks as well.

We got over on Cleveland once it wont happen again.

Polk- I picked him because if we are "ground and pound" we need a better running back then Greene, he isn't a work horse, I mean sure he rushed for 1,000 yards but i we need him to be 1,400 yard runner and he isn't that.

Randle- That kid is going to be good, if athleticism is crazy, he just needs to refine his route running, great size and great hands. Watch him in the National Championship.

This is just 1.0..........after the declare deadline I'll have 2.0 ready probably the 17th or 18th this scouting shit is hard

We don;t need a RB period.

Jason Snelling is a decent, albeit cheap FA option to compliment greene.

You people thinking we take OG and RB first are ridiculous.

    Polk>Snelling

With this draft I think we fill a lot of holes and give Sanchez a lot of weapons

    RB Polk
    RB Greene
    RB McKnight

    WR Edwards
    WR Smith
    WR Kerley
    WR Randle

    TE Keller
    TE Carlson

WE wont have to lean on 1 guy to pile up yards on the ground, we'll have 4 wide outs who compliment each other, a pass catching TE and dual threat TE. Along with a top 5 O-Line.

Polk is gonna be a stud so I would love that pick and I like Curry as a pass rushing OLB. Rambo pick is nice too. Getting a punter in the draft is a necessity. Cool with a kicker too.

Hate Keenum in round 5, he might be at best a round 7 QB. He's Colt Brennan II. Harris mental makeup is not a good fit in NY.

Won't be able to trade Holmes, much less for a high pick.

Once Rex establishes his vice grip back on the team and vets like Revis, Harris, Pouha and DeVito take over the locker room I think Harris will be a perfect fit a CB for us, similar to how Jimmy Smith was drafted by Baltimore.

I hate picking Keenum that early too but the kid put up numbers and could develop into a true #2 in my eyes.

I'd also move Holmes for whatever the price is, his attitude is a distraction and with young guys around its unhealthy. Us being tied to him could lead to Rex losing his job and I want Rex WAY more than I want Holmes

Holmes (which you have off) & Bart Scott must be off the team.

Edwards is a bad idea and he isn't coming back.

    No captains...remember??

Not to be rude, but this looks more like a Madden game then the NFL.

You have more moves than any team has made in 1 year in the history of the NFL.

Isn't Bart Scotts contract guaranteed throughout next year since he restructured?? From a lot of smart NFL heads it seems like Holmes is staying whether we like it or not. That press conference was all about making things seem peachy even though they aren't.

You're right we're bring in 18 new guys in this mock thats over a 1/3 of a new team.

Essentially 7 new starters(Edwards and Smith at WR, Benard at OLB, Diem on the OL, Nelson and Horton at S)

But I honestly think we need to make these moves. We gotta get faster, stronger, more skilled and deep.

I love this mock but I see some changes I wanna make. Maybe a TE in the draft and RB in Free Agency instead of vice-versa.
