He put on a clinic at compine in passing, has the speed, smart guy, comes up big in big spots, better stats than brad smith had was in a big time program.

I wouldnt mind with a 6th/7th round pick he has potential but high risk because of size

Not sure why the size of the Oline dictates the QB.

You could say the pass blocking ability allows a young QB more time to throw. In that case Ratliff is already familiar with the offense.

Unless you are saying White has a better chance to run option plays behind a good run blocking line.

Not sure where you are headed with this.

Obviously if he can't see over the line, how can he see down the field well if hes in the pocket?

Not sure that I follow, or you are incorrect.

He has shown in the combine and workouts that he is very efficient in his throws, and are usually right on the money. He is NOT a run first QB, but if he has to, he is gone. You are not getting a Michael Vick or Vince Young type QB in him.

BUT, even though I am a WVU fan, I'd rather stick with Ratliff and see what he has.

White's proven he can make all the throws and that he could be an NFL QB, but do we really want to invest our 2nd rd draft pick for him, as we already have three other QBs on our roster, one of them showing he can be starter material in the NFL and another one who the FO is reportedly high on?

Plus it would render Smith obsolete, as he would not have be the one running our gadget plays anymore, and would be playing only on ST. Do we want to use a roster spot for a specialteamer seeing as we have a stud in that department in W. Wright?

So with these in mind, I would have to say pass, unless he'd fall so we'd be able to nab him with our 4th or 6th.

Thats as a WR I believe no one really believes he will be a QB in NFL at 6'1 barely can see over Oline. I think Miami will draft him for Wildcat or some team that wants to try and run it as well next year.

So then is the theory that he will just be a scrambling QB the answer?

I just don't understand the point.

Since we have a big Oline, draft a 6ft Qb and have him run the option?

ummm... have you read or watched anything on pat white, tubby? throwing is the least of his concerns. its height. and you know what, drew brees is as small as him and look at what he does. i say if he's available in the second you roll the dice. i have watched him in college for years now and there is something special about him. i can almost sense that hes gonna make noise in the nfl

I wouldn't mind drafting him at all. I think he'll work out well.

robustson put on a clinic at the combine also. boobway invested two first round picks in him. we all knew how that worked out.

let his performance in college speak on his behalf. combine workouts less so.
he did look good in some all-star games after the college season ended.

I think the NFL is gonna break his skinny little legs. Nothing against him, he just doesn't look like NFL material to me.

pat white is 6'0ft tall and so is drew brees and look at him he almost broke the season record for passing yards. while height is important shorter qbs have had some success.

White sure blew up the senior bowl and the combine, and comparisons to Brad Smith are not accurate. White has serious skills as a QB. Smith does not. White sure would be an interesting pick, but I see the Jets looking to fill other holes in the first 3 rounds, and by then White will be gone. The kid sure opened some eyes lately, and I think he could well be much more than a slash in the NFL.

I remember another guy who blew up the combine last year. Whatever happened to him?
